GROWING VEGGIES IN MY NYC APARTMENT | Container Gardening Butternut Squash + Sweet Potato!

My first vegetable garden with easy to grow vegetables and seeds! I used kitchen scraps to grow a little fruit and vegetable container garden since I don’t have much space in New York City, let alone a yard to plant in, but luckily I can do some balcony gardening using planters during the summer in the city. Indoor garden with me as I show you how I germinate seeds (accidentally), how I root divide my plant into multiple pots, and how I fertilize my fruit and vegetable seedlings and plants! I am a produce garden beginner, but I managed to get sprouts on my butternut squash seeds and sweet potato tubers. These were super fast growing vegetables too.

I don’t think I can get a harvest but fingers crossed I do and I can start growing food at home. I am just excited I got new plants to grow my first time trying and basically without trying. Let me know if you have any indoor gardening tips or advice for me, I need it. I hope you all are proud of me!

  2. That’s nice always a good thing to share plants 🌱 with family and friends πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ, that squash look so healthy 😍😍 great job πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ.

  3. This is my goal that one day I will be able to grow my own food or even some veg. Pls post some updates would love to see update/harvest video. Might be a good idea to propagate cuttings/leafless nodes that way..

  4. So jealous! Amazing how many sprouted in the Tupperware. I have to give that a try. You have a green thumb. Well done!

  5. Wow! Great gemination on those butter nuts.
The sweet potatoes well done! I can't get them to grow for love or money…
They need larger containers to get new tubers, but they will produce flowers and luscious leaves.

Root city! Guess how I'm going to germinate my squash seeds next year! πŸ™‚
You have green hands never mind fingers or thumbs lol

Maybe cut the tops off and just leave one squash in each pot. Without disturbing the roots.
    But they should come back.

Good idea using a container as a measure.
    All the best
    Steve

  12. You have such an amazing camera presence!! And I had to google it haha and google says that botanically, butternut squash is a fruit but in the culinary world it is used as a vegetable! Anyways, im impressed with how much you accomplished out of a balcony, I guess I don't have anymore excuses now

  13. It's interesting that your butternut squash is so bushy, I'm guessing you prune it? Wouldn't think you could grow it while in an apartment πŸ‘πŸΎ
