  1. Great reminders guys! I have to mention a great tool for weeds for those who haven't heard of it, the *Hula Hoe*. I can weed my whole garden without bending over in no time, then just rake up the dead weeds! It is my favorite garden tool, hands down! Google it… it goes by many names but I THINK Hula Hoe is the original. My friend, who is in her 60's, said that's what her father called it.

I just got myself some knee pads and I think they will really help with my knee pain. Easier than dragging around the kind you place on the ground and then kneel on!

Take it easy out there everybody!

  2. What would help Foxie Dog, is for Bob and Brad to come over to weed eat, pull weeds, spray for weeds, pick up tree limbs, cut up tree limbs, trim the rest of the tree's. Pressure wash. Pick up all the 3 inch rock to be placed down the driveway, mix up concrete and pour sidewalk's, clean out the garage and clean up all the yard tools, then we can start painting. That's what would help out Foxie Dog.

  3. Oh boy! I needed this information! I love working in the yard/flower bed but hurt for days afterwards. Great advice guys! Thank you!! 🌺🌻 ❤️your humor! 😂

  4. Hello, Kaitte here from COLORADO .. My son and I have been doing raised beds via big tubs and wooden boxes.. for as I age.. I'm in good shape for 68.. I wish there was a way to share pictures here..

  5. I love the garden kneeler, but I actually sit on mine flat on the ground. As long as I lean straight forward it works great.

  6. Holy crow! I should have watched this before pulling weeds all day Sunday. My lumbar area is ON FIRE!! I'm glad for my Mackenzie Roll and Think chair today, but I'm still not loving my desk job today.

  7. great video guys thank you so much for sharing your knowledge ….aawesome tips… myself ready to go out and clean up all the mess… tons of leafs to pick up … you know this is the season !!!

  8. Anybody have strategies for what to do AFTER you messed up your back gardening? It hurts to bend at the waist and also to straighten up after bending over. I worked in the garden for 1 hour and two days later I’m a mess! But i cant afford to be non functional for a week. Help!

  9. Hey this video is great for farmers too, I work on a small scale farm where we have weeding jobs that are 8 hours a day

  10. Thank you! Gardening is what I've missed the most since entering the mid 80's. I have one of these kneeling devices and it really does work wonders. Thanks again for all you both bring to us!!!

  11. They also make ergonomic shovels, tho sometimes hard to find. Makes a huge difference when shoveling. Love those kneelers too!

  12. I have a rolling seat I use and I have a container garden so I don't have to bend over like I used to. I have lumbar and cervical stenosis bur I still love gardening at 74.

  13. LOL I do this all the time. 4 times a year. Rip out all the blackberry bushes that grew all year… 6 hrs. Trim all the fruit trees – 4hrs, trim the bushes 4hrs, rip everything out of the garden thats dead 8 hrs. Just accomplished one set of blackberries and gearing up for the next. I must be getting in better shape. Took two days off for the trash man to empty my brown bin. ;P Thanks for the tips. Resting definitely helped when you cant help but overdo it.

  14. Thanks a lot & Brad. Could have used this on Monday before I pulled my ol' lumbar-sacral injury again. lol

  15. Hip hinge! Don't lock your knees! I'm 83 , I keep a big organic garden, and my back and knees are in good shape. Thank you both for all your wonderful videos! No wonder you've become the most famous physical therapists on the Internet! 😊

  16. Thanks so much! I really like that "reacher" idea. I have huge oaks in my yard that drop little branches and twigs all over with the slightest breeze. Now, this idea will make my picking all of them up more of a breeze! I appreciate you all so much. You have helped me in so many ways.

  17. Thank you! I’m a gardener with severe stenosis. Great tips! It’s true that I have to pace myself because if I don’t, my left leg gets a little numb and I have to stop for the day. Taking breaks by sitting down works wonders.

  18. I do have a garden kneeler/bench…it's the best thing and it works. I have a torn meniscus and thought my garden days were over. The kneeler/bench is cushioned and the handles help me get back up without a struggle.

  19. I have two garden kneelers and I wore them both out. A neighbor was able to fix them by peeling off the cushion with a paint scraper, replacing the plywood base with a new thicker board and gluing the cushions back on. Plus he added angle iron supports on the ends to give it more strength. Ready for many more years of gardening!

  20. I do gardening for only 10-15 minutes at a time…my back is more important than the weeds! I agree with you.
