  1. so do i re-pot my basil plant every 2-3 days or do i need to water it every 2-3 days. and after a couple of weeks how much do i water it then?

  2. In some instances, caring for basil plants really needs time and effort because this is best for direct sunlight and consistent watering.

  3. As an FYI to any one that is watched this video, first do not put any herb plant in the Kitchen you’re not going to get a large yield from them at all. What your doing is smothering the plant to not breath air nor get enough sun for them, pple don’t realize that plants have feelings, they like to be around pple its not a myth it’s a fact. And you don’t put them in any pots that are plastic cause there is no air for the dirt to dry naturally, and do not put plants on pots that have glaze on the out side of the pot the pot might look nice but its nice for us to look at but its not good for the plant cause its like putting them in a plastic pot there is no air going thru them. And you don’t water them every three days DO NOT DO THAT.. your going to kill them, this is what you do when you water the plant you water them until you see water coming out from the bottom of the pot so that means just put little water at a time so you wont put to much were it will spill out of the tray you have the plant pot in.. Now to know when you need to water the plant put your finger in the pot if you feel that its dry then you add water in the pot in the steps I told you.. and if its basel put green poles in the pot they sell them at home depot or lows u use them to make sure the basel is standing up right don’t have them hang cause you can stress out the plant and it wont give you large and big basel you get the green string they sell them at home depot and at lows.. To take basel off the stem you pluck the basel between the main stem and the leaf stem.. you keep an eye out for them if they get to big then it wont let the other little leafs grow to good.. And DO NOT CUT THE MAIN STEMS PLEASE.. if you do it will not grow the stem under the cut you just made it can and will die off cause you just cut the vain of the plant were there are or might be other basels trying to grow. And only use plan clay pots the ones that say from Italy or Germany.. Do not use any clay pots if they say china on the pot cause the clay pot is made with a different kind of clay and there pots are not good for plants I used 1 pot that said made from china and my plant didn't like it and it just died it wasn't cause of the dirt I was using it was from the china pots there is no air that flows thru them to the root of the plant..  when I took that plant out and replanted it in the other clay pots from Germany and Italy I use the same dirt that was in the pot it grow much better and it was the greenest I ever saw  .. I just care for the  plants of any kind that you grow, hope pple learn hear that what you see and hear isn’t the truth when it comes to videos, I just want you to enjoy your plants as much as I do care for them and love them cause they don’t talk but they will show you in return that they love and thank you cause ether they will be the greenest plants you ever seen or they will be the biggest plant you ever had ever.. Happy planting have a good night

  4. Never pinch off herbs from the stalk or you risk damaging the stalk. Scissors or pruning shears, snip at 45 degree angle lower on the stalk will help them bifurcate and grow outward as opposed to upward – and you don't want top-heavy container plants.

  5. Growing: choose a pot with good drainage, add more holes if necessary. Choose well draining soil. After the seedling has has least two sets of proper leaves, you can cut off the top growth to make two main stalks. Repeat on different branches as it gets bigger if you like (makes more bushy growth, less tall and spindly)
Watering: only water when top inch (one finger knuckle deep) is fully dry. Give it a full watering and ALWAYS empty the tray with the run-off water. (for me it's once every 1-2 weeks in winter / once a day for our very hot and dry summers)
Pruning: snip off leaves or small branches taking care never to cut more of a third of the whole plant. Don't pluck off all of the leaves of a stalk, it will never make new leaves again, leave at least two. If you cut the plant heavily, leave for a while to recover.
Feeding: the soil that you will use probably has enough nutrients for a month, after that consider feeding the plant with plant food made for edible plants
Plant life: chances are your plant won't make it through the winter or live for more than a year but don't worry, a cheap pack of seeds will contain more than enough and the seedlings sprout up very fast.
Now all you have to do is look up recipes, yummy!

  8. Did she say baysil and erb😂😂😂😂 First 20sec and I can only make the assumption that this must be a joke.

  9. My still young basil plant has dark spots on almost all of its leaves, i bought it like that, the seller said it was caused by rainfall and it's ok. Will my basil grow or will it die? Is the seller lying?

  10. With all due respect, I have never seen anybody who does gardening with well manicured hands. I imagine this is the first time she's touched a plant. Love how uncomfortable she's touching the plant and the roots.

  11. For fucks sake Janice, give us a smile. Looks like you've just been told your kids are dead. How on earth did you get this gig?

  12. Strange. Mine likes sitting in water. That is all I do actually and I thrives. Watering from the top killed all my previous basil plants and I was given this advise to let the plant drink by itself. Leaving the pot sitting in water allows the plant to get water when ever needed and you do not drown it.

  13. Hey! My basil stem starts rotting when put inside water for propagation. What is going wrong with it?
