Edible Gardening

Field Trip Friday- Constantine's Edible Jamaican Garden

Constantine has an impressive edible garden at his South Florida home and he was kind enough to show us around! He grows peppers, tomatoes, many tropical fruits, mangos, and more.

  1. Wow so lucky & so many variety of fruits to eat makes me want to live in Florida now set for life with food & fruits

  2. Chris what an excellent garden visit. Mr Contantin's enthusiasm for his garden is very infectious. You've left me home-sick for my mother's garden, in The Caribbean, which is very similar to Mr Constantin with the exception of sweet potato vines instead of a lawn. I enjoyed this immensely. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us.

  3. This is great! BTW, maybe Constantine can help Scott out. Scott is great, but needs a little coaching to get better results with his yard like Constantine. Cheers!

  4. Alive Breadfruit outside in FL is impressive. What area & climate zone is Constantine growing his breadfruit tree? That would be nice to get an update in a year or two on his breadfruit. It is interesting to see how he is going to protect it when it gets over 10'. I believe breadfruit doesnt produce fruit when it is a small tree.

As for his coconut palm dilemma – I suggest Constantine should try to water it with sea water at least once a week. I see a bit more liveliness on my cocos once I started watering them with Pacific ocean water.
