This client had a large backyard with drainage issues. She wanted to create landscape beds that encompassed the entire rear yard, added color and vibrancy to her outdoor living area.
She had a plan created by a landscape architect, then invited Benton Outdoor Living to bid on it. Benton’s Master Landscape Designer, Seth Hudson, suggested downsizing the beds. This was to accommodate the client’s budget, as well as reduce long-term maintenance.
Another area Seth noticed…that other landscape companies had not… was the flow of rain water across the backyard. Drainage was very poor.
He designed French Drains and dry creek beds to redirect rain water away from the rear yard and out to the street. This was based on the drainage swale placements from the home construction.
Seth created a new design that was similar in layout to the original architect’s plan, but with significantly different plant selections and arrangements.
What resulted was a backyard the homeowner loves, and is extremely happy with.
