A few folk have asked about the equipment I use to record my videos and how I get the buttery smooth shots – I’d like to say it’s me but alas it’s not me – it’s the equipment.

Below is what I use:

Second Camera: GoPro Hero Black 7: https://amzn.to/2PufdHg This IS THE camera if you have an allotment. It is by far the best and easiest to use – video is stunning!!!

Third Camera: Note 9: https://amzn.to/2L588MV If I have no camera and need video… this is a great video caperture phone – 4K is stunning.

Main Mic: RØDE VideoMic Pro+ Microphone – Black: https://amzn.to/2PsuTe2 The quality is unmatched.

Second Mic: Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone: https://amzn.to/2L3DBPq Back up if the wind is too great

Indoor Mic: PR 40: https://amzn.to/2PrZI2F Omph – if you are going into this for real – audio is even more important that video. This mic is a dream sound.

Second Tripod (for GoPro Hero 7) Joby GorillaPod SLR-Zoom: https://amzn.to/2L5vRMS This is the idea tripod when in allotment as you can stick it anywhere and record great shots

  1. Great video Tony lol, yea egg shells for slugs , calcium and nutrient for peppers and Toms which are easily affected by calcium -deficiency ,Our golden retriever loves licking them ahahab ,my grandad grampa jack ad 2 allotments ,1 for fruit and veg and the other 4 flowers, i can remember crushing them up and putting them in jam jars, when i was a young lass, god rest his sole, thats probably where i get my green fingers from, ive heard that if you wee in a compost bin rats wont nest in there, i avnt tryed that tho, compost bin to high 4 me to (toiled ) over , thats welsh for squat lol , banana peels around roses bushes for potassium 👌

  2. Hang a few bunches of fresh seaweed in the branches fruit trees, over the growing season to prevent and cure curly leaf. My Mother has been doing it for 20+ years. Looks a bit weird but just tell people there has been a high tide😁

  3. Garlic powder mixed with water spray it on your roses…if that don’t work take an aspirin,it might get rid of your headache…👍

  4. Hi Tony, great sharing tips, spent coffee grounds are ment to be good as a fertiliser and to keep slugs and snails away, and there free for most coffee houses as it's waste.

  5. Pee often (once a week) onto a spot or hedge (don't kill it, pee is strong) and it will keep foxes out! Do it on the perimeter mostly and where you think they ingress! One or two pees, in a bottle and a spray will stop the nosey neighbourhood from thinking you're a drunk, he heh!

  6. Thanks Tony, great tips. I'm new to this and don't really have any but i already knew rabbits don't like hares. 😉😉😆😆🌱🌻🌻🌱

  7. Add a bit of grease in with some sand in a bucket. Then, when you have finished using your tools over winter, plant the steel in the bucket to stop them looking old. Also, treat the wooden handles before putting them away.

  8. Tony, have you sorted out your shed roof yet? If not could I make a further suggestion in using flash band? It might be a bit difficult discussing it through comments and I suggest I upload a little video on doing it. To use flashband you will have to strip the roofing felt but it is cheap and no big deal. Take care Mike B

  9. Collect egg shells and coffee grounds from a local small Bakers or cafe to add to the compost.
Place cut up banana skins around plants that flower prolifically.
But some red worms/tiger worms from the local fishing tackle shop and add these to your compost bin…. Watch the magic!
Grow a patch of nettles and non invasive comfrey to make a liquid feed from.
Place boards or broken pots over the earth near a slug problem…. Over turn the boards/pots each day in the early morning… Breakfast for the birds. This will not totally irradiated the little dears… But its a guilt free way of getting the numbers down.
Bonus re urine….use 3 parts water, 1 part urine on the compost heap it's the best free activator for your heap.
    Thanks. Loving your videos. X

  10. My dad used to get blood from the abattoir, put about a litre in a bucket then fill with water. It was stirred daily until it stopped stinking and turned green. The evil liquor was watered onto the veg, particularly the tomatoes. I swear it was a midnight hex attraction, we definitely had a few black cats.

  11. hi mate,
love your videos. just one little thing. can you please lower the volume of your music. it hurts my ears every time.
thanks in advance and keep the good work

  12. Smashing video, you know what's good about your videos, you make them interesting every time…..never boring, you never know what your going to do next…Brilliant 👌

  13. If you keep tropical freshwater fish keep the waste water from the tank for watering the garden, including the mulm and muck from the bottom of the tank and the filter. This provides nutrition to the plants in an easy to absorb form and is not going to burn them at all. Water either late at night or just at sunrise, so it soaks down and does not leave evaporation spots which will burn. Works well on orchids as well.

  14. Aspirin works for Tomatoes too, 300mg (one tabelet) disolved in water 1 gallon and sprayed on to toms and it induces the plants defences to deter aphids, got this tip online from another gardener and it does work. Again another top video on point with a little humour cannot beat it!

  15. if my grandad ever found where a fox or rat got in the garden or hen run, he used to pee over the rat or fox run. he always said they didn't like the smell of people. it never stopped them digging in somewhere else. lol…………………..brian

  16. Nice one Tony, Yeh I regular use teabags, eggs shells banana skins and the lot in me polly tunnel, and of course have the odd Jimmy Riddell as well in there😂👍

  17. I just found your channel and love it! Watching from Phoenix (USA) Thank you. I posted a link to your channel on my gardening groups FB page. 😊 hope that’s ok.

  18. Try putting banana skins around plants with unripened tomatoes Works for me Ah well yet another book to start called gardening hints and tips Cheers Tony

  19. To ensure a plentiful supply of plant crops I like to do some Aboriginal ceremonial dancing.. Works a treat..

  20. My tip is taken from James Wong….dissolve 1/4 aspirin in a litre of water and spray your tomato plants each month in summer – it contains a hormone that makes the plants resilient to pests and diseases plus it is meant to boost the flavour 🙂

  21. I've always been told that when you make a home-made spray of onions or cayenne pepper – always mix it with a couple of drops of dish detergent to help it stick to the plants. But I am looking for a slug deterrent for here – I'm in British Columbia and that is a temperate rainforest. Our slugs are 6 to 8inches long. Giving them beer only makes them rowdy. Any hints?

  22. Every 2 weeks I clean my tropical fish tank out. I pump the water straight into my water butt . The water is full of liquid fish poo and is great for the garden. Doesn't smell either.

  23. I had some jalapeños plants I had bought from the store that had aphids and my mother in law who has cared for a farm all her life said little bit of dawn dish liquid with water in a spray bottle and it worked a yielded many jalapeños
