  1. What about interplanting some type of Oxalis in the first area where you're taking out the grass by the drive, and perhaps Creeping Phlox (Phlox subulata) in the circle where you're taking out the tree?

  2. Great tour and review of potential projects. I need to do the same In our garden so I’ll be somewhat prepared when it finally cools off here (Chico, California, USA). Euphorbia characias might be fun to add to the circle with the weeping tree that you’d like to remove? It would enjoy a nice rocky dryish location. Just a thought. Can’t wait to see what you do!

  3. A low trellis structure with hanging plants, at the top and cascading down and over. It wouldn't be a hedge, it wouldn't rely on the ground…

  4. Oh i think that's a great idea to move the miscanthus to the area where you are trying to screen the work area! Grasses are so wonderful to watch and listen in the breezes. And yes..the geraniums sounds good. Where the willow is in the round bed which you want to take out ..it would be fun to plant the low growing grasses and in the center of them have maybe some kind of yard art or a nice rusty colored bird bath? How fun! It's always fun to change things and necessary too. I've planted and now iam moving plantings because iam losing sun to the growing trees. I will be excited to see what you choose to do. It's so fun always having things to keep us busy! Thanks!

  5. You are right about one thing, we are not getting any younger and a garden takes a lot of energy…
I lifted my Salix caprea this summer, it was growing too large for behind my pond, shedding too many leaves into the water. And in the end I loved it only with bare trunks in winter🙄

  6. I couldn't possibly put any plant with willow in the name as they are forever self seeding and as someone said unkillable. I would plant a focal tree like a saucer magnolia just for the spring spectacle. The branches are easy to make cuttings from if you want the adventure of doing from scratch as they are quite costly. I've tried many from garden centres and they simply fade away when conditions are not optimal. But once established as strong and pest free as you could want.

  7. Maybe you could put some of the divided sedum near the tarmac, I have some Autum Joy sedum at the edge of my driveway and they do great

  8. This is my first visit and your just lovely. Your garden loves you! It's so beautiful. The love and care you give it is evident. You made my day, thank you!

  9. Just shows that proper and loved garden is work in progress always 🙂

  10. Please tell me what are the plants with large green leaves underneath the tree with the reddish trunk and interesting bark visible at the end of the video.

  11. For your dry/stoney border, wouldn't Lavender do well? I have some growing well in basically gravel.

  12. When you mentioned sedums I thought the Chelsea chop would sort that out and you said it (GT minds) ??? GT update thanks for your time 🐞🐦👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

  13. . That’s a work of love of a caring gardener. You’re pre- planning , that’s the teacher in you. I believe you once mentioned that you are a French teacher. How do you find time to care for such a big garden during the school year?

  14. Hi Rachel! It would be very interesting to see dividing tall grasses and planting them into the screen. At work we planned on doing this in one of our client's garden, so it would be great to see exactly how you would fulfill that.
