I used to grow both vegetables and flowers then last year I focused more on the flowers but I missed the home grown taste so I plan to grow a lot of veg in pots and crates.

In SC, okra was grown here forever. I am not a fan. My 96 yr old mother puts pumpkin in the freezer. She makes pumpkin pie at least once a week. People bring them to her after Halloween. We are zone 8 here. I love flowers but can no longer do gardens.
What zone are you? It may be in the last half but I'm impatient 😬

Do you seed summer or winter Brussel Sprouts? I'm Belgian (Brussels is the capital city of Belgium) and I always do the winter kind . Brussel spourts love the cold. They taste better after they have been trough some frost (the get sweeter) (I think we have the same kind of weather like you have) . I never plant my seedlings out before 15th July (even later when it's very hot weather) , I plant them in landscape fabric and place hoops over them with insect netting. That gives them some shade and protects them from butterflies (so you don't get caterpillars in them) . I have sprouts into March. Mmmm, Brussel sprouts are my favorite veggie. With butter and nutmeg!
