Azaleas are a blossoming plant that can be found in many traditional Japanese and Japanese style gardens. They are often found grouped together, pruned and formed into asthectically pleasing shapes without demonstrating a formal design pattern. Azaleas tend to bloom late spring, early summer and the blossoms typically last about three weeks, depending on the variety. In this video you will see how to care for and maintain azaleas after they have completed their blooming cycle. We cover the dead-heading of the blossoms, as well as how to prune azaleas into a desired form whilst maintaining the natural feel.

Have you timed how long it takes to pull the spent blooms off all the azaleas? I live in the south zone 7b and wonder if I should be doing that to my Encore azaleas. You have such a beautiful landscape.
