Easy Tips to Grow Your Own Chinese or Napa Cabbage – Gardening Tips

Chinese cabbage is an oriental vegetable that is used a lot in salads and sandwiches instead of lettuce. The leaves are tender like lettuce even though it is a cabbage. Unlike regular cabbage, the thick veins in the leaves are actually tender and sweet. Growing Chinese cabbage or Napa Cabbage is a great addition to any vegetable garden.

Chinese cabbage is often sold as Chinese leaves. It is fast growing and can be ready for cutting in as little as seven weeks. There are three main types of Chinese cabbage: hearted or barrel shaped, tall cylindrical, and loose headed. The green heads can be cooked like cabbage, stir-fried or served in salad.
