By having them in the bed it leaves a nice open isle between the rows and provides great support.
my question is How Much did it cost …. if it was suppose to be a 1000 dollar but realy how much did it cost …
what price range are we looking at
thank you
what type of a set up would requmend for hot dry climate zone 9a 100° & only 5" of rain a year shade cloth and misters ?
Are the 4x4s safe for food i know that pressure treated wood has chemicals.
Another excellent video, thank you. Have you considered heating the green house with a Solar Furnace?
Excellent video. Informative and helpful. Thank you
Would you do an update on this please.
How much the UV affect the pvc pipe or have you had one up long enough to find out? It would seem the pvc would need to be painted to eliminate the uv destruction making the pipe brittle and break when a little stress is put on it.
you could not be more informative or time saving, simply amazing! if only i may recommend writing a script or editing more coherently =/ i mean that as encouragingly as possible, not trying to discourage. subscribing and liking!
This looks like plastic you buy at Home Depot or Lowe's. It will only last about 12 months. I use 4-year greenhouse plastic on my greenhouses. It costs twice as much but lasts 4 times longer.
Actually, I have a 17-year-old greenhouse that has 4-year greenhouse plastic on the sides that is still fine, but I do have to replace the roof plastic about every 4-5 years.
Instead of having several strings to hold up the roll-up sides, I simply use a 3-inch spring clamp to hold it up on one end. Fast and simple. http://thd.co/1pFObYQ
I live in Central Maine. I am wondering if this will withstand all the snow and wind.

Above link shows some effects of using pvc in a greenhouse that uses poly glazing. This post is nearly 2 years old now how is the covering holding up?
Hello, I'm trying to open one link, but I guess I must be a member of the group first. 🙂 So please add me, I'll be building 4 or 5 of these next spring for my little business I'm starting.
Nice, since the build, would you have changed anything?
Great video. Do you have a PDF of construction plans? I'm in Canada and appreciate your heavy snow load considerations. I'd like to build 8×10. Thanks!
hey can you give me a link to that white plastic you used for the sides at 2:22 in the video? 🙂 that would be much appreciated!
I am sure you can still buy handbook with all info you need on woodprix. Just google it.
David, Excellent work you are doing! Just wondering. Have you ever tried 1" conduit clamps instead of the plumbers strap on the 3/4" PVC Fittings? They are fairly inexpensive, 25 cents each at Home Depot in the 10 pack of the 2 hole type. They fit fairly snug on fittings and look like they would be much easier to work with. The 3/4 size straps work fairly well on the pipe itself but they are just a tad small and distort a bit.
interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out diy greenhouse ideas try Lomonting Easy Greenhouse Mentor (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my partner got amazing success with it.
thanks for the video.
I have a question maybe someone can help me with. I am building a wood frame greenhouse. I'm using wood beams for the top as well and want to cover it with 6mm uv plastic. I was thinking about putting plumbing foam tubes around the edges of the wood to keep the plastic and wood from rubbing and tearing?
Is this a good idea?
Doesn't the supports 'in' the garden make it a real pain to dig or till? It seems like it would be in the way so much as to make tilling or planting much more laborious.
How many T frames per 30 ft bed is required?
How much the cost of the plastic? Where and How much is the plastic total cost?
You could have put the screw where you hang the rope on the furring strip to avoid hole for the plastic in the long run.
I have a printed copy of the Mittleider Gardening Course and have had my beds for many years now. But I am not finding a material list or specs and dimensions given. At this point we are wanting to put a greenhouse over two 18" beds divided by a 3' walkway, which appears to be the case here. Can you tell me the length of a pvc pipe you used to make the arch to cover that distance? Thank you!
