  1. Keep this channel going, Brian! So many other channels have no idea of the challenges faced by the millions of people who live in the Upper Midwest. A land of extremes. Hot! Cold! Limited growing season. Deer. It's great to see someone who is taking this on!

  2. So happy to find your channel! Finally found someone in the same grow zone as me (I'm near MSP Airport) so that I can relate to! Happy growing 🌿💐🌸🌺🌻🌷🌱🌾🌳

  3. Looking forward to following you during the growing season this year. I hope I can learn new techniques for Minnesota’s zone four.

  4. Dude this is awesome. I'm definitely going to referencing your vids all the time. I'll be a first time home owner this month and gardening is a big thing I want to learn! I'm glad I found someone in MN!

  5. Great episode. I live in an apartment, any tips on planting crocus, tulips, daffodils, like when and how.

  6. Yup, 8’ should do it for fences. I would fence it all fruit trees too.. just easier in the long run.

  7. Hello Brian, I wanted to introduce myself so you know who is stalking your channel. I love your zone 4 garden and this first video has me hooked. Starting from the beginning and working my way forward of all the videos on your channel. The plastic comment was very funny.

  8. Loved everything about this video except for the inhumane mouse trap 😩 so easy to just put some peanut butter in a live trap and take mousie outside in the woods. Catch all of them, find where they're getting in, seal it, and you're good.

  9. I'm in Mn 3B. This summer of 2021 was like we moved to a tropical zone. I enjoyed your video. I start my seeds in the basement, too, and had to laugh when the cobwebs got to you! 🤣

  10. I'm in Zone 6A, but I really enjoy watching what people in 'worse' zones face and achieve in trying to grow all the things. ☺️ Rooting for y'all!

  11. Enjoyed your video. Searched for Northern Minnesota gardening and your YouTube page popped up. Happy to subscribe!

  12. Nature has done just fine making seeds sprout in (1) compost & (2) dirt. That’s a modern commercial industry myth! Plz don’t promote the buy buy buy myths of modern nursery industry. They Use Dirt & compost to make your bagged soil by sterilizing it & mixing in certain fertilizers to promote growth & materials to keep it from becoming compacted. All you need to understand is What you have to do to sterilize the soil & why it’s done.

  13. How did you clear it out initially? We have a small landscaping island that’s completely overgrown from the previous owner (with fabric and old mulch like you mentioned). We want to remove everything and start from scratch, but it’s overwhelming.

  14. I got tomatoes and I’m looking to see what kind of soil I should use clay is too heavy in Minneapolis
