The japanese garden in hasselt , belgium is the largest japanese garden in europe. its an area of 2.5 hectares. the garden is designed by Inoue Takuyuki. it is located between the city center, grote Ring, the kapermolenpark and deschaverdijn ice rink.
the garden is the result of the bonds of friendship that the cities of Itami (japan) and Hasselt (belgium). it was inaugurated on november 20, 1992.

the ceremony house, the tea house, the waterfall, yatsuhashi (zigzag bridge in the pond) are there.

we went by public bus from geel to hasselt. hasselt city center is the nearest bus stop of this garden.
they have 2 slots of visiting like from 10 to 1, and 1 to 5. i recommend you to go by prior booking in their website. they charge 6 euro per adult. inside that picnic area also available. you can get many options of food there. both vegetarian and nonvegetarian.

best time to go japanese tuin is spring (blossom time) or Autumn (fall time).
