Gardening Tips – Bulbs & Squirrels

It’s that time of the year to plant our bulbs. But how do you keep those squirrels away?

  1. Sorry to be rude, but, this video has a lot of wrong information:
    1. Daffodils are toxic and can kill if ingested, not psychoactive (Same meaning as the word in the video).

    2. Grape hyacinths, small tulips, and daffodils (Beside the poets daffodils, mainly because they are more toxic than other ones) can still be dugged up. But, they will not ingest them.

    3. The only bulbs that I'm aware of that any rodent will not dig up are alliums, autumn crocus (Because they are extremely poisonous), and snake heads (all plants in that genus). Garlic are also reported to repel some rodents, they should be planted near other bulbs to protect them.
