For two nights, staff and animals at Wings Wildlife Park were cut off by the flooding at Gunns Plains, a beautiful valley south of Ulverstone in north west Tasmania. When the road re-opened, a second flood began – this time a flood of volunteers to help clean up and rebuild the popular attraction. The Wing family is heartened but the damage is such that the future of the 36-year-old family business is now uncertain.

Tragic to see the devastation and loss caused by the heavy weather. And it must be heartbreaking for everyone to see so much work and history almost washed away. I hope everyone gets behind the family to help, so the place can continue the great work they do for the wildlife.
