  1. It's Nov 2nd and today we plant our garlic, our ground doesn't freeze instead we have what the locals call "the killer mist".
For your celery soup, have you heard of Lovage? it's a perennial that has a mild celery taste and like celery can be eaten raw or cooked. It's also a great space saver.
May I suggest using beurre manie instead of arrowroot as this tends to breakdown in reheating. Arrowroot is great for when you want to keep the product translucent and for making that sauce around the apples in apple pie. For cream soups I'd go for beurre manie for lower cost and improved stability, easy to make at home and is also available commercially at a higher cost, hope this helps.
Really looking forward to the next chapter in your book of adventures, although the twist in the journey of no garden is going to be strange!! Starting afresh is very courageous of you, I don't think I could face starting a fresh.
As always, looking forward to the next video ๐Ÿ‘
Will you be taking the chucks?

  2. Oh no ๐Ÿ™ I'm not gonna lie, I'm really sad. The gardening videos were my favorite I was really looking forward to next years videos

  3. No garden next year just means the next garden will start with all the things you learned from this one the last few years! Itโ€™s crazy how excited I am for what You 5 will be encountering with the new property! Thanks for the best TV series Iโ€™ve ever known in my 46yrs!

  4. PARSNIPS are my most fave root veg and I miss them so much. Supermarkets sell them but they're like gold !!! Just asked why you don't grow them … and BOOM you had parsnips !!!! LOL Mostly we roasted them and also boiled them and mashed them alone directly mixed with carrots.
When travelling thru SCOTLAND in 1998 we had the most delicious Parsnip Soup in ABERDEEN. The chef was gracious enough to share his recipe with me but I've never made it as I'm on my own and the parsnips cost a fortune here in SEQ, Australia.

  5. Ugh. So sad to leave the hard working garden behind and have to start over. The berry bushes!! You just started getting a great crop! Can you start prepping for a garden at the new place? At least start the berry bushes again and the asparagus. Maybe you are already "plotting" that out in your heads. lol
But aren't you super excited about the indoor showers you're going to have!? So excited for you both. And looking forward to the videos of the new location.

  6. I just love watching y'all harvest your garden and all the different things you do with it. I live in Lumberton….Southeast Texas. Our veggies don't get near that big. Well done.

  7. So of course the question immediately springs to mind: "If you aren't gardening, then something big must be taking up that time?" Can't wait to see what you guys have planned!

  8. Besides the very informative videos you guys always put out, I just wanted to highlight, how beautiful they are as well. You guys have a wonderful eye for nature and her beauty. So thank you for taking such pretty shots and including them in these, what feels like professional production videos! Your passion shines through your work.

  9. I can't wait for the new episodes I knew you were going to move to the other house it is so beautiful your new place with the log cabin oh absolutely beautiful I can only imagine what you will do there

  10. 28:00 you could pour the dairy / arrowroot mixture through a sieve or mesh basket to reduce the chances of lumps making their way into the soup. The stick blenders are great but they can miss lumps unless you blend the daylights out of the pot.

  11. Just had my hubbs take out the last of our celery and kale from the garden after watching this! He's running to the grocery store for the milk/cream! Totally making this for dinner and canning the rest! Thanks! <3

…and above ground geodesic dome greenhouse.
Or you could just write a gardening book this winter.

  14. Who doesn't like garlic?
