He Turns Shipping Containers Into Luxury Hotels is another episode of my Made in Africa series where I feature black entrepreneurs from all across Africa who have built successful businesses and they tell us how they did it. Today’s episode is about Mr. Olaoluwa who is a Nigerian entrepreneur building tiny homes and restaurants with shipping containers. What type of licensure is involved? what about the land on top of which it is built? do you buy or do you lease the land? perhaps do another video on building requirements
Good. Construction companies have been using containers for temporary buildings for workers for a long time.
I can listen to this dude all Day ,He knows his stuff
This is great for creating open and fun workspaces for people who work remotely. Just so they can leave their homes every now and then and network with others like them. There is definitely room for this in Nigeria.
How much does the restaurant cost?
How creative! Wow! 👏🏾
How can I get in touch with this guy
Yea!
I once chatted this man for one of my client who wanted this container for his relaxation spot but the conversation didn't go through.
Tayo, what's the location of this African themed Container Restaurant you guys held this interview at?
I would love to visit the spot.

This man is a genius. Glad he's planted IN Africa, we need these geniuses here. More opportunities for him there.
I'll be retiring in Ghana, currently in UK, I could use a professional like that, we already have a 9 bedroom house with enough land. I'd like to build a private gym using shipping containers
I love this. It's a brilliant idea
Watching
How much does it cost to build one container
That Pillow app that sponsored your video is quite tricky. The complains on the Play store are very scary.
Nice video and presentation. This is a game changer!
Prefabricated homes are the norms, I lived in a 2 bed one and was the best, well insulated as well. It’s my plan to build my home in nigeria some day with prefabricated materials (Uk base)
🤣 12:37 bedroom house for 12 to 20 million naira ? Very very cheap. I need to make an order before December
lnvesting in crypto now shouId be in every wise individuaIs Iist, in some months time you'II be ecstatic with the decision you made today.
I love it. Thanks for sharing
Note : it is not cheaper (if you buy the containers) , it will not save your time ( building is a process)
I have neat containers for sale, 40ft and 20ft. I also have Refrigerator containers the one people refer to as cold room containers in stock as well.
You can reach ASAP.
Very creative
i love this guy, just start!!!! Thank you Tayo for the good job too!!
@Tayo –
I believed that using prefabricated containers to construct a home or office was done because the overall cost would be less. I disagree with his business analogy that faster delivery necessarily results in a higher price. In the West, the use of containers is growing in popularity since it is so much more COST-EFFECTIVE than building with concrete, sand, water, steel, and a lot of lazy laborers.
I suppose his business strategy is successful in Nigeria, but not in the West. Container-based buildings are two-thirds less expensive than traditional buildings. There are an excessive number of abandoned containers throughout the world. Unfortunately, this too will become another sector dominated by the unscrupulous, and it may even become more expensive than constructing with concrete. What a tragedy would that be!
Hello sir,
I really want to meet this guy as a real estate investor
I've got a few questions. One is, do they work outside of Nigeria? Also can I get a contact to make further inquiries on?
Edifying piece , once again. Thanks Tayo
Being economically challenged ( poor ) you repurpose all the time so this makes perfect sense to me and I mean why not we through away too much ! Thanks for sharing 🙏
