“Unboxing” my seed order from BAKER CREEK Heirloom Seeds | Seeds for my 2023 growing season

Hey there, I’m Suzanne! I live on a farm with my husband and kids in British Columbia, Canada. Welcome to my channel!

In todays video I’m opening my seed order from Baker Creek. I’ve been buying seed from them for a few years now, almost exclusively. But I do pick up a few other things here and there. Here are some links to other seed companies I like and mention in the video:

  1. Seed saving is not really about saving money. It's about having seed for tried varieties so now you can buy seeds for things you haven't tried!

  2. It will be interesting to see how the corn does for you. I grew up on the Idaho/BC boarder, south of Nelson. We always had difficulty with corn because our growing season was too short and cool. Recently, bought a house there after 20 years away. I’ve been wondering if corn might work now that global warming is causing more hot summer days and a bit late first frost.

  3. It's fun shopping for seeds and trying new varieties. I grew the classic beefsteak this year, and it did well in my garden. I will grow it again next season. I'm going to try parsnips for the first time, and those mini butternut squashes. Thank you for sharing your seed choices. I always learn something new, and it's fun sharing ideas with fellow gardners.
