Judge says housing plan in Little Italy would have adverse impact



There is an ongoing battle over the Elizabeth Street Garden in Little Italy. An affordable housing development is proposed there, but those who want to keep the space as it is got a small victory Tuesday. CBS2’s Alice Gainer has more on a judge’s ruling.

  1. I think to keep everybody happy they could just build a big building but have it up high in the air eight stories and still keep the park in the bottom and try to pipe in natural sunlight🙌💯✅💥

  2. Governor’s island has been completely empty for as long as I can remember, why not use those already built empty buildings? Dummies are in charge of NyC!

  3. the apartments are affordable while on paper, as soon as the first dudes start to come in they won't be affordable anymore… better stay with the trees.

  4. Development Development! Affordable housing …..???? There are plenty of vacant buildings on the Bowery, Rivington and Orchard streets!

  5. affordable housing benefits the developers. keep it green. brooklyn is losing all its green space. Elton housing has no play ground big enough for a soccer field or athletic track. however, Elton housing is in progress more than ten years.
