This was pretty basic. Nothing new here. And I have to say that starting seedlings from seed is much more economical than buying seedlings, especially if you have a larger garden. And it isn't that difficult.
Thanks for sharing some Tomato growing info for us! Please keep in mind starter plants can bring in disease. I bought some just recently from a local Nursery, now I have a virus! Thanks for sharing with us! Marty
Only a true gardener will grow their garden from seeds;) not only that, you save a lot of money, seed packets are only $2.00 + or even less!! you just have to spend money on seed starting soil, and a good spray bottle to germinate the seeds!! it's not that hard!! lol come on man!
"Growing Tomatoes"..
Step 1: Buy tomato plant
Step 2: Read instructions with said plant, and follow.
You are missing out on all the fun! When you start your own seeds you have an endless variety of Heirlooms with all different colors, shape, tastes! You really need to rethink.
Are you saying that you personally caught a virus from a tomato plant? What kind of virus did you come down with?
This how to video is produced by "The Blind Leading The Blind".
They are not that easy! What about removing the shoots to promote growth? What about when and how to feed? What about which trusses to remove and which ones to leave? Poor video.
these are the secret tips from this film
useless video
and thus go to …..
Theres nothing more amazing than watching a plant grow from seed.
You should have said how to arrange the lattice or frame or whatever is used.
That's the thing people need to know.
You look like the dude from "The Hangover"
Good grief, could you get more uninteresting? Get a more enthusiastic presenter for goodness' sake! /wrist
this guy is lame hhahaah i really wish he didn't say "lazy".
I start from seed and agree it can be a lot of work. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to start from seed. A lot of gardeners do not start from seed. If starting indoors you need a lot of equipment and supplies to start from seed. This can be costly and time consuming. Most people don't have time to do all that.
THIS VIDEO IS GREAT FOR SOMEONE WHO IS NEW TO PLANTING TOMATOES AND DOESN'T WANT TO START FROM SEED!!!!
I grewn from seed last year putting 72 pots with 2 seed each thereabouts. It wasnt no work at all. It DID, take a LONG time to get them ready to transplant. AND, even at that, they were 2/3s smaller than what I could buy at the plant store. The seed is for tomatoes that are drouth resistance, and I need that in Okla.
I didn't like this at all. Seemed like you got all of your information from Google, grow only for the fruit (which is indeed delicious), and couldn't define horticulture. You didn't mention that you shouldn't water too much either as this will drowned them, that they also like wind to help pollinate, and that you may need to prune and cage them to maximize support as well as the plants yield.
And dude… too much work? germinating and transplanting are my favorite steps in growing anything. >.<
I think that some times you do them from seeds and sometimes you don't. I don't see the big deal. I buy my peppers because i can't seem to grow it by seeds, yet i cut the top off and i'm able to grow the top also. It's all what works for you and the time you have. I liked the video.
i just tossed all my seeds in the dirt…put water and marical grow. now i wait and smoke it up
Fucking fascists, who gives a fuck whether or not he grew it from seed. He's growing isn't he? More than we can say for most people in the states. Lighten up and embrace him, educate him.
I didn’t know gardeners were so judgmental. Give this guy a break at least he is trying to get people excited about gardening.
I usually take a dump next to my tomatoes……then I eat them and dump on the next plant.
wow… that was boring. There were no tips in this video? You basically just told everyone to buy a starter plant and water it…. there was no information about pruning, growing, etc. Definitely not a helpful video. Sorry.
Have a little bit of respect for the man….. Helpful video by the way.
I just started growing some tomatoes and chili peppers. I started with starts. This is my second real attempt at gardening. I figure I want something relatively easy. Once I can grow something successfully, then I will try my hand at starting from seed. So I see nothing wrong with using starts as a beginner. Also, it helps support your local nursery. I am lucky enough to have an awesome nursery a little over half a mile from my home.
Yea right buying your plants from a box store , not saving your seeds to replant buying organic fertilizer from the box stores .And trying tell pepole your green organic living hahaha
Check out Mhpgardner or webcajun if you want some good helpfull tips on growing your garden
What a berk
Woah, a lot of mean comments from tomato Nazis. There's a lot more effort that goes into producing a video than it takes to complain about one. Make your own informative YT video instead. Gardening is for everyone.
wow a lot of rude comments some people just don't want to go out of the way with starting from a seed if you prefer it then go ahead but some people don't and they don't have to and I have some experience with making a tomato gardens im helping out with one at my higheschool in FFA and we have more then 100 tomato's that we donate to food 4 families so the starter plants are easier and faster then seeds
I would take a shit on your tomato plants with that boring ass talk you gave me
Thanks – what kind of staking (cages) do you use?
um yes willyham72 it will be ok dude its prettymuch salt it lasts forever
simgar.com makes the ultimately best system for starting from seed. i grew 100lbs in one season.
I grew 465 lbs tomatoes on 11 plants that I grew from seed. My neighbors thought I was crazy at first, until they saw the finished product. Developed for the arctic to be 2" global fruit, well I was in Southern Ontario the result was as big as 4 1/2" size and sweet as honey 🙂
although I agree that rude comments aren't necessary especially on a bloody gardening video! I have to agree with William in your claim to be an organic gardener and buying your plants from the shops? there's nothing better than taking the seeds from your excess to grow the next harvest
Well, I have great soil, but mildew and bugs got mine. You didn't mention that. And what kind of organic fertilizer? Did you put epsom salts in the soil?
bugs go for any food outdoors. that should be a given:P
Do you have a recipe for your Organic Fertilizer?
It is really worth trying for! I know tomatoes are very easily grown and tasty enough to eat. Thanks for this video.
I found this gardening tips very interesting! These ideas could help us somehow to have a good start in growing tomatoes. I must be grateful to hear these gardening advice. Thank you!
What about growing them inside in the winter?
