Here is what Steam has to say about Subnautica:

Subnautica is an underwater adventure game set on an alien ocean planet. A massive, open world full of wonder and peril awaits you!

You have crash-landed on alien ocean world, and the only way to go is down. Subnautica’s oceans range from sun drenched shallow coral reefs to treacherous deep-sea trenches, lava fields, and bio-luminescent underwater rivers. Manage your oxygen supply as you explore kelp forests, plateaus, reefs, and winding cave systems. The water teems with life: Some of it helpful, much of it harmful.

After crash landing in your Life Pod, the clock is ticking to find water, food, and to develop the equipment you need to explore. Collect resources from the ocean around you. Craft knives, lights, diving gear, and personal water craft. Venture deeper and further form to find rarer resources, allowing you to craft more advanced items.

Build bases on the sea floor. Choose layouts and components, and manage hull-integrity as depth and pressure increase. Use your base to store resources, park vehicles, and replenish oxygen supplies as you explore the vast ocean.

What happened to this planet? Signs abound that something is not right. What caused you to crash? What is infecting the sea life? Who built the mysterious structures scattered around the ocean? Can you find a way to make it off the planet alive?

The ocean teems with life: Use the ecosystem to help you. Lure and distract a threatening creature with a fresh fish, or simply swim as fast as you can to avoid gnashing jaws of roaming predators.

Build a Pressure Re-Active Waterproof Nanosuit, or PRAWN Suit, and explore extreme depth and heat. Modify the suit with mining drills, torpedo launchers, propulsion cannons, grappling hooks and more.

As the sun goes down, the predators come out. The ocean is unforgiving of those caught unprepared in the darkness. Areas that are safe to explore during the day become treacherous at night, but also reveal a beauty that those who hide from the darkness will never see.

Cave systems wind below the sea bed, from dark claustrophobic passages to caverns lit by bio-luminescent life and burning-hot lava flows. Explore the world below the ocean floor, but watch your oxygen levels, and take care to avoid the threats lurking in the darkness.

  1. This is old, do I don't know if it is relevant to the current build, but I didn't realize how rapidly the plant life rots and I kept ending up with rotten food where the only thing I could do is put it in my reactor

  2. To the new people playing now like me u can plant creepvine seed clusters to get their clusters

  3. The rogue cradle provides a lot of illumination, but I can’t find any on reefbacks

  4. if you plant the creepvine seeds (the ones you use to make oil you will have creepvines that produce it as well

  5. Ik this is a old video but I didnt know you could plant the air bubble reef thing, that is gonna make this game easier lol
    Thx

  6. I'm looking for a way to get around the bug of not being able to scan the exterior plant bed. Not here I guess.

  7. I know this is a random not related question to this video, but I know you will have the answer I need. Do the autosort lockers work in subnautica below zero, or just subnautica? Thanks for your time!

  8. According to the creepvine seed cluster wiki creepvine planted by the player will grow seed clusters. But according to the creepvine wiki only when you plant the seed clusters themselves, not when planting the samples.

  9. Lantern fruit are great for bioreactors in small bases. They grow quickly and you don't have to worry about replanting them. Just put one in the same room as the reactor and you can just pop one in every now and then.

  10. Just got the game on my switch. I was wondering can they be a fourth category? Are used to bio generator(?) in one of my bases. I noticed the creep vine doesn’t last long they can be quickly replenishable & that fish or acid mushrooms seem to last longer. Are there plants that you noticed are better for the generator? Or should I just stick with fish?

  11. I wouldn't be against a cooking update to the game where you can make proper 'meals' with some of these items. Like creepvine samples and a peeper to make a sushi roll or something.

  12. Here in 2022, tiger plants do enough damage to kill bonesharks at least. Around 30 seconds to a minute while it was being hit by 2 – 3 plants

  13. I’m really upset I’m getting into this game like, 5 years late and have been missing out. I’m almost exclusively watching your videos now for tips and stuff

  14. Fun Fact: You can actually put exterior grow beds on top of base compartments. You can comfortably fit 5-6 of them on top of just a multipurpose room, so your exterior garden could be built directly over your interior garden. ~_^

  15. If you plant the yellow nodules from the creep vine instead of the creep vine sample you will get creep vines that also produce the yellow nodules in your grow bed.

  16. When it comes to farmable material, I like to use oculus for my power, and Reginald for my food. I use water filtration plants for hydration as well.

Plant wise, I like to plant a full bed of tiger plants near my scanner room to protect my camera drones from Stalkers. I also make full beds of acid shrooms, deep shrooms, gel sacs, creepvine seed clusters and bloodvine. I always have one last planter devoted to growing bulb bushes, sea crowns, and eye stalks.

I never really bother with land plants, though.

  17. I lost, like all my progress b/c there is no auto saves this will help me get aerogel to get my vehicles back
