caring for my indoor jungle

Plant care equals self care. Even though I sometimes dread these gardening chores, I always end up feeling so good during and after completing my tasks. There’s something so meditative and relaxing about caring for your plants. 🧘🏻‍♀️

I fertilize all of my indoor plants twice a week with a mixture of liquid fertilizer and worm tea.

My indoor plants consist of all kinds of herbs (mostly culinary), citrus trees, flowers, leafy greens, peppers, tomatoes (mostly micro dwarves), a few houseplants, and a couple of experimental cucumbers (inside the grow tent).

Indoor air is very dry, so I mist my citrus trees daily and have a couple of humidifiers running in different areas of the house where they’re growing. When the weather is nice, I open my kitchen windows to let fresh air in as well.

Even though it’s a lot of work to have an indoor jungle, I wouldn’t want it any other way. It’s very convenient to have fresh herbs in my kitchen while cooking, and honestly, these plants have kept me in really good spirits no matter what the weather is outside.

I still have some fall crops growing outdoors too and I check on them once in a while. 😅

Who else is growing indoors this season?
