    I bought two of those cheap pH/TDS meter set from a well-known name brand. Each were off from one-another by as much as a full point. They went back to amz as I couldn't trust either. I got the Apera PC60 5-in-1. It's dead-on accurate.

    not sure if i should get an advice on a vital thing like water from people smoking weed and can barely think straight,
    "yo dude put some sulfuric Acid in that water and drink it, look at me, i can't taste that chlorine anymore"

    Get a large dark barrel, run the rain drain from the roof into it. Wait for a storm. Either pail it out or put a spigot near the bottom, small water pump on the sigot into a garden hose. Or have it on a stand higher than the garden and use the spigot and gravity power and hose. You want a dark barrel (even painted dark) to stop or slow algae growth. Have fun.

    I use hot tap when i fill the jug then wait. I think itll evap the chlorine faster.Thats my stoned theory.Dont know if it makes a difference yet. Im doing a side by side comparison for 'research' as a organic soil guy.

    i'm about to get a RO system that filters out all contaminants and bacteria also. my situation is that we have a water tank for our primary water although we get town water that has been chlorinated, delivered to the tank on our property. so a RO system with chlorine and bacteria filters will have to do for me. but yes like you say, i'll have to add some cal-mag along with some other macro nutrients to the mix before adding my nutes and ph etc… going to be running ebb and flow with rockwool cubes in a SOG method
