Who are we?
I’m Kaylee: a garden coach, permaculture designer and homesteader. Almost a decade ago, my wife (Lindy) and I said “farewell” the convenient life and set out on a mission to “grow food, live simply & cultivate happiness”. We started a small 3/4 acre homestead in Idaho and learned everything we could about living sustainably and growing our own food. In 2020, we moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest and began creating the 2-acre permaculture homestead of our dreams! And now we are taking you along for the journey with new videos each week!

  1. thanks for showing us your space 🙂
in the north its more like used for like over wintering fig trees, easy harvest of carrots in winter, etc . deff not economical to "grow food" all winter in a greenhouse. heating would be insane unless you had like a half in the ground set up or something

  2. Thank you for posting the video on this topic. Lots of things to consider when investing in a greenhouse. I don't have a greenhouse yet but I hope this will change soon 😊

  3. What, you don't trust Stanley to guard the greenhouse from critters? Can you say bull in a china closet 😂

  4. We live where it gets below freezing on a regular basis and have a Dyna-Glo or Mr. Heater VENT-FREE infrared heater that is hooked up to a natural gas line so it stays on even if our electricity goes out. These heaters are affordable and don't have to be vented to the outside. They have 3 levels of heat and will come on and turn off to maintain the level you set. The fans aren't very strong so you need a good size fan to distribute the heat. Watch the corners near the floor where it will freeze if you don't have a fan to distribute the heat. After researching the difference between the infrared vs. the blue flame (the heaters come in both versions) we chose the infrared.
