  1. We had no running water, no electricity raised our on food and worked hard and had morals and family values. Although being called low class ,we believed we were the richest family in the world.

  2. ooOOooh! Your hair is extra curly today! Must be humid over there! Haha! I love your hair! It’s so beautiful! Your just beautiful in general. 🥰 thanks for all you do!

  3. We are poor AF but the crops were good we got plenty of chickens in the yard and we put a deer in the freezer the other day. Minus the back straps and tender loins of course .

  4. My living standard is through the roof. A creek 70 feet from my front door, a huge garden. Three different varieties of poultry. Fully stocked pantry. My RV is paid for. Two of my daughters and their families ( 6 grandsugars) live on the same property. I know the Creator of the universe. Income, in my opinion is not a barometer of wealth. The middle class is a trap of the "American Dream". I am wealthy beyond measure, HalleluYAH!

  5. The rich are getting richer and poor are getting poorer has been going on for decades. I figure someone is rich if they have a roof over there head, a nice warm bed, and food to eat. Our system is made to keep many in poverty. Reagan and the trickle down economics that the wealth never trickled down.

  6. We were poor but always had something to eat. When I went to school we had to wear dresses if you were a girl, no jeans or pants. I had 3 dresses that my mom found at a garage sale.

  7. I grew up middle class. my dad was WW2 vet. mom& dad were children in the depression..I remember dad saying in the 70's, they are trying to get rid of the middle class. of course at that time i had no idea what he meant..He saw it coming.

  8. Girl you are so right. I have my son with me to and he knows exactly what is going on.

  9. We are actually working on moving into mom's, so we can work together on the bills. We probably could scrape by, but not my mom. Our house is not paid off and not really accommodating to my mom. Our origin gowns to sell both homes get land with a house and build a small house for my mom. But we must be adaptable to what everthe world throws at us. Also dealing with my twenty something who wants to move out. Can't blame him, it's part of the male psychology. But at this time nowayit is possible. My oldest also 24 is making it with roommates she is always welcome back home. We also have an alternative with group if we have to, to move in with them. We have all been making arrangements together and working on what we each of us would do to contribute.

  10. I'm a baby boomer grew up middle class… we all worked our butts off too… grew food had outside jobs etc.

  11. Middle class meant you only spent 30% of your income on food, primary shelter/utilities, medical, transportation, church tithe and clothing. Extras were going to a restaurant, activities, hobbies, vacations and possibly a extra car. I graduated in 1983 from high-school and I had 2 friends who's mothers had been divorced and married again. I didn't know anyone who had a abortion, but did know of pregnancy that led to adoptions or young marriages. People didn't lock their front door unless going on vacation. I felt connected to my neighbors and on the 1st of May each year we would leave flowers in a basket on the neighbors steps. I miss those days.

  12. I remember a friend asked me if we were poor. Soo I asked my dad and my dad said no we were considered middle class. But both my parents were on SSI and getting food stamps for me Soo looking back I would say poor because we lived month to month. But I never saw us as poor. My mom grew up poor. My grandfather worked for the railroad and was constantly moving. My grandmother and grandfather grew their own food. My mom and her siblings didn't have much. They had hand-me-downs. I see myself as middle class. But their trying to get rid of the middle class. They are making the middle class poor because they want to rid the middle class

  13. We are retirees living on SS, we are low income. But, we both get SS so we are better off than a lot of retirees, last year our gross was $32,000.

  14. The Demonrat Midterm steal is on!!!!!!!
Things are gonna get dicey intel is pouring out about the Dominion voting machines already!!!!!!! Be prepared for Martial Law Military Operations is the only way!!!!!!! God Bless everyone everywhere and their families and friends and fur babies!!!!!!! God Bless America!!!!!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  15. Autumn! I agree on converting the garage. We did that at my parents house so that my grandmother had a space. Great idea.

  16. In 2008-2009 I was in my early twenties with a brand new baby. I was struggling so hard just to make it I didn't realize the economy itself was having a problem. I'm now in my mid 30s with a decent paying stable job and was just able to buy a piece of land last year. I always tell my kids I couldn't afford to buy multiple Acres to be able to give them each a piece when they got older so they'll just have to build on to my house.

  17. I grew up middle class and continued to be so until I was hit with a disability. Then I became poor. While I realize many folks are in pain watching themselves drop from middle class to poor, I can also tell you that when this happened to me, most middle-class people just shrugged their shoulders and told me to be happy that I wasn't homeless-level poor. Now that this is hitting them, I wonder if they are shrugging their shoulders at their situation.

  18. I grew up in a large family my mom was a widow I never knew we were poor until I went to high school and saw the kids from more affluent families. My husband and I are financially secure we have everything my mom didn't have we both worked very hard to achieve our position. We do the best we can to support our community and our family.

  19. I cried a little on the way home from the store today. I haven't done that since my kids were growing up and worried how to feed them. I live alone on a fixed income. I even said a cuss word in the checkout line. When I saw the total I heard somebody say "Bullshit" and realized it was me saying it outloud! I've never done that in my life but the price was bullshit!! I can't do that. I'm gonna have to cut down even more than I am, quit eating or something. So cutting out more meals

  20. I grew up middle class but as an adult I'm poor as hell. I have a roof overhead and what I really need. Not much but it's better than nothing. Some don't have anyone that they can depend on to work with them. Alot don't have the family to team up with. Some like myself just have themselves. We'll do the best we can.

  21. I hate all these classifications people created. I am a human, I breathe, I am healthy and that means I am rich!

  22. My husband and I went through something like this with our oldest child. One day she came home from school, she was in 12 grade. She informed us she was going to move out with three of her friends. We asked which three, it turned out it was one girl and two guys. Instead of saying no in a loud voice I told her to get her notebook and set down at the table. I went and got the newspaper and give it to her. I told her to look and find a house or apartment that she thought they could afford cause if she was old enough to make that decision then she and them would have to pay they’re own bills! She find one for under 800.00 at which she smiled like she had find the perfect one. I said ok write that amount down on your paper then I asked her does that include you electric and heating? She said no. I told her what our electric bill was for that month, I said knock 50.00 off of that. Write that amount down. I also said that many people will want to watch tv so put down around 70.00 anyway I said ok add that amount up! She looked at it and said it wouldn’t be bad with all of them pitching in. Then I asked her how many of you have a job. She said we’ll right now it’s just me. Ok put down how much you clear for one month. She did I said ok now take out 40.00 for gas money for your car. And also every six months you’ll need to come up with the car insurance plus any car repairs that it’ll need! She said but mom my wages want be the only one! I’ll divide the rent and all that between all four of us and I’ll have enough money to do it! Sounds fine but what happens if those other three can’t or won’t find a job? We told her she better rethink their decision and put it on hold until at least two of the other ones had a job. We never heard another word about moving out again!
