What I do with the ends of my poles is I just drive a foot long piece of rebar in the ground and slip the pole over it, it doesn't go anywhere No matter how many times I trip over it

If you have enough pieces left if replicate the top frame at the bottom with drain holes in the connectors to reduce rotting you will have something to really tie down the net along the hole structure.
I plan to do something similar as a poly tunnel using gala style marquee / tent / car port frames damaged in the wind.
Another tuber I watch suggested to source the poly sheeting is to chat up your local fruit farmers for there end of life sheets they have to dispose of, there should be more than enough usable for us smaller scale growers
Love the ducks on the pond. There is a saying here in the shearing shed ' ducks on the pond' meaning ladies approaching keep the language respectable lol
