  1. I tried to root stella cuttings for the second time. This time I saw roots. Stella needs lower temperature for rooting. Over 30 degrees Celsius are not suitable

  2. It's the eyes that get you every time. Dale's eyes look like our dogs eyes when food is involved. Great ideas on getting materials for people with no truck. My truck is old, but still useful for all these trips. I would be lost without it.

  3. Always amazed how these guys know exactly what time the bowl is delivered! They love structure and repetition so this becomes the internal clock. Plus, they observe you in detail every minute to learn your movements and what to expect next. The littlest activity triggers an expected response of what is next. Dale never sleeps, as we know it. One eye and ear is always on alert. Congratulations on feeding him a diet that will keep him healthy and strong well beyond his traditional breed age. Ever consider bringing him a companion? Socialization is a strong motivator to good health and longevity. These guys adore you forever but they also need interaction with another K9 to remember they are still dogs. 👅🐾🐾

  4. This is some very good information. I appreciate your willingness to share. "Where there is a will, there is a way". Cheers!!!

  5. I drive a tiny scion hatchback… I totally understand! The nearest big box store is 35 minutes away on top of that. I figured out that I can get pretty large deliveries from said big box store for $79. So once or twice a year I place a large order of bagged compost, potting soil, mulch, etc. I’ll also get lumber, metal conduit, t-posts and whatever other large awkward items I think I may need.

Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find delivery of cattle panels from anywhere. They don’t even sell them locally. I can only drive an hour to pick one up… but they won’t fit in my car and I’m honestly terrified to drive a big rental truck. Lol

  6. I'd love to hear more about the pickle barrels keeping citrus warm.
I learned the hard way that mulch in raised beds is not right for me. Though I have lots of sun, I'm surrounded by mature maple trees. You know those little helicopter maple seeds? If my beds aren't covered, I'm pulling up map li e trees all summer.
Great idea with that UHaul. I have a tiny hatchback but with bungee cords in an fit in 6 2x10x8. Or 15 bags of bed materials. Wish all that came with someone to unload it!!!😊

  7. you bring in tonnes of compost and mulch….only to see them go up into the sky as carbon dioxide. since the evolution of lignin biodegrading bacteria and fungi, the soil no longer stores carbon at the rates prior to said evolution. this is why forests will no longer produce coal, no matter the timeframes, as the carbon is returned to the atmosphere, once there's enough other nutrients around for the bacteria to do their thing. Between 97% and 99% of all that organic matter is converted to atmospheric carbon dioxide. You will save yourself a lot of money and work if you dont yearly repeat the cycle of bringing in organic matter, just so it can convert to atmospheric carbon dioxide. Better off working on soil chemistry and getting that right, ensuring drainage and de-compacting soil, in my opinion. with a decent regular fertilizer (not soil conditioner) i produce way more veggies that actually make it into kitchen than when i was buying in and making own composts etc and spending (wasting) time and money doing that. but each to their own.

  8. Dale is the cutest!🙂 That's a great idea you shared with us today! 🙂👍 It always pays to plan out a project. Our Home Depot has trucks we can rent for $19. I haven't had to do so; however, if someone doesn't need as big of items as you picked up they might check into a Home Depot truck rental.🙂

  9. Looking forward too the citrus video! Heated barrels is the best method for cheap heat. My friend had fish tanks in a garage with out heat and it kept warm.

  10. I have a 20 year old compact truck that I do NOT want to replace. I love it. I might replace it someday but all the new ones are too big.

  11. Yep, was just going to say, home depot or menards truck rental or uhaul… much cheaper for those who don't have a truck already- no upkeep, no insurance cost, etc.

  12. I did this same thing in Spring, this year. I rented a U-Haul pickup for 1 day, plus mileage. All my needed stores are clustered in close proximity.
Between Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, Runnings and Country Max, I made a day of it. I bought over two tons of soils, composted manure, peat moss, straw mulch, lumber and 8 foot cattle panels, and 7 foot T-posts, plus other stuff and shuttled it all home on the way to the next store.
I am (still) slowly building my garden and learning as much as I can.
I figure in five years I'll either know what I'm doing, go broke. or both.:)

  13. Another great informative video. YUM! That's meal is good enough for a human meal….LOLL! Lucky Dale! 🐾🐾

  14. Sweet video! I got those same pickle barrels in the Greensboro/triad area. Maybe same source! Looking forward to seeing how you use them.

  15. Great idea. I did this a couple years ago. I rented a uhaul with a bed, tarped it, and used it to haul mulch and compost. Much cheaper than buying bags of material. I think I spent 200 total for the truck, 2 yards of mulch and 2 yard of compost

  16. Another very enjoyable video. Just an idea. Im not inclined to use mulch in my garden since its right next to the house and I worry about termites. I really love how your plastic mulch looks so strong and neat. Would love a video on tips and tricks on how to do this.

  17. Oh and darling Dale…add a scrambled egg to that tasty mixture, and grind up the egg shells for calcium. They love it.

  18. I’ve tried mulching with straw from winter wheat in my vegetable garden, but was constantly pulling up wheat shoots. Is that your experience or do you have a way to get rid of the seeds before using? Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge…I’ve been haphazardly gardening for close to 20 years and your videos have explained a lot of my failures.

  19. Good idea, I have been wanting cattle panels as well but drive a small vehicle.
Where do you buy your straw bails and pickle barrels? Thanks for another very informative and thorough video!
