Happy Hummingbirds are Here for the Winter, Tons come to Hummingbird Feeders as I Fill w/ DIY Nectar

How to keep Tons of Hummingbirds Happy to feed in a friendly matter. As I try to set up my window thousands of hummingbirds keep flying at me making it almost impossible for me to work on the feeders as I’m filling them at the same time. In a matter of a couple hours I went through 3 gallons of food and they’re still feeding. So obviously they’re not finding enough food out there on their journey, unless they’re staying here.

Here are the SAME Solar Fountain Kits I buy for our Yard and this is an affiliated/aff. link to the company: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204084771665?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20201210111314%26meid%3D3178bd52087f47edb157e06ac5db2e81%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D385041948049%26itm%3D204084771665%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseWebMskuAspectsV202110NoVariantSeedKnnRecallV1BERT&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAkDalmx3uitYGezFTZWs5mVbrqd80yMq7atQLRVXmwwZCnFpYtifswo6cgCvSsPy%2FT6nT5XSsDS%2Bw3BQAG7GvrbIm7pD9ZwoXsYgGOGWQ%2BO3d8TWp4tmfYOAuaOXg4Fh3d4QF4BG9%2FVkb9YgnPcMA5Cuhhn2H9d0wOnxZ9oH%2Fuywht5m%2BECPE4a01zY8G1b%2FZ2A%3D%3D&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&siteid=0&campid=5338267736&customid=&toolid=10001&mkevt=1

  1. You asked what we wanted to see. I guess for me it's to watch the hummingbirds. Mine have been gone a while now. I sure miss them but I'm happy they are there to stay well. It's just nice to see them again. Thank you!!

  2. Hi Robbie. luv yr Vids. Very very lucky. What a beautiful garden You've got. Next year gonna give it a go of making a water fountain. Wish me luck. Hope all is well across the pond. b Safe take care 👍👍🦋🐦🐞

  3. I live in GA, and I love hummingbirds, I feed hummingbirds all spring and summer, It's fall here and cold now so they are gone now, but I can't wait for them to return, I love your channel Robbie I learned so much from you, I remember when I first put my first hummingbird feeder out, I didn't have any hummingbirds feeding at first, about a week later I had so many hummingbirds feeding everyday, it's exciting and fun for the kids to watch the hummingbirds feed 🥰

  4. Indeed it is amazing, Robbie! Thank you for sharing your love and knowledge of hummers. Zone 8a, Central Texas…our hummers migrated around mid- October. They will be back in March…one usually let's me know when I'm in my kitchen window. It tweets at me.😄

  5. I love what you do for the "hummers"!!!!! I feed them all year round here in Northern California, as well. Love watching them! Happy feeding!!

  6. I am in NorCal 9b. I have a loquat tree that blossoms in winter and always attract hummingbirds. At first they migrated passing by my yard. However, they have stayed over the winters in recent years after I put out feeders for them as diligent as I can (due to my traveling schedule away from home).

  7. Your birds are cute! I love them! Thank you feeding those adorable little guys.

  8. I still have hummingbirds where I live even though it is November and cold. There seem to be a lot passing through. They come in waves. Mostly, I am seeing juveniles and females. The six males in my yard keep chasing them around. Anyway, I hope at least some of the ones passing through my yard find their way to your house because it looks like paradise. They would be happy there.

  9. Thank you for sharing this video with us! I want to see the hummingbirds, your and Gary's gardens, the bird garden, and more videos of how you cook the foods you grow. I love them all and your enthusiasm keeps me motivated. ❤🐦🦋🌼🍓🌶🍅

  10. I am so jealous . We only have a few months of hummers here . They are now long gone for winter . That is sad, I miss them. I know they can't handle this cold we have now and that nasty winter white stuff that is predicted to get later today. Enjoy them .

  11. Awe I miss seeing any of them here but I keep hearing what sounds to me like their chittering but perhaps its wishful thinking since I did enjoy them when they came. It's been freezing here in Middle GA, its 45 now, it's supposed to get down to the low 30's and yet there is a freeze warning just 1 miles from here LOL

Thanks Robbie, blessings to you, Gary, Kitty, etc..

  12. Hi Robbie. Thank you for sharing your hummingbirds! I'm in South Carolina and the last one I saw was a baby hummingbird flying just from flower to flower on Oct 15. My question is, why baby hummingbird didn't use the bird feeder? My guess is that his momma didn't show it to the baby. I even bought extra petunias, but the next night temperatures were down to 40s and I never saw it again.

  13. I’m in Eastbay area 45 miles S of SAn Francisco – got a few hummers coming by daily – 40-50’s temp , no snow, did get a bit of hail 1 day – very unusual 😊

  14. Now that my hummingbirds are gone for the winter I am thrilled to watch yours!! Love it!! It will get me through the winter until mine come back in the spring!!🤗

  15. Does anyone know if it would be advantageous to put some type of heating element for the winter on the birds feeder. Don't know if it would work or if it is even necessary. Live in S. Oregon getting pretty cold here but the little hummers are still here.

  16. The water in my feeders does not come down on its own. I literally have to tip them sideways for the water to go down. I can't imagine you doing that with so many feeders.

  17. Curious why hummers stick around when Mexico is so much warmer and luscious for nector. Ca not that warm during winter.

  18. You are such a blessing to these birds Robbie!!! Wow 3 gallons so fast???? Wooooaaahh!!! Im so happy you love them so much they really need you! 🧡❤️💜💙💚

  19. You also have some calliope and black throated hummingbirds in the mix! Black throateds aren’t seen as commonly and calliopes are one of the smallest hummingbirds known. Thank you for all you do Robbie!

  20. love this, and yes I agree feed them, but only if you're going to keep your feeders clean. In hot weather about every 3 days, and in cooler weather every 7 days, I think. Not sure what the dots or peanutbutter cups are though?
