  2. Chuck thanks for posting this …great video. Robert – awesome job!

  3. Very inspirational Robert; thank you for sharing your project with us! I live in NE GA and planning a phased project of my own!

  4. Great job Robert! In Virginia we also have red clay. I used a pick axe to slowly chip away the trench to the proper slope. It is a lot of work but it is worth the effort. Looking forward to seeing your finished project.

  5. Thanks for posting Robert. Can't wait to see the completed project.

Crack a couple cold beers on completion. Cheers!

  6. Can't you make rain water harvest, in the garden, put 5-6 feet hole, put a drum with holes, fill it with gravel, can it work ??

  7. Wow! Robert, you are doing a GREAT job! I can't wait to see the continuation videos, as you progress on your drainage fix! Remember: keep smiling, and don't kill yourself… Take breaks when you need them, then come back and work on the next foot! Before you know it, you'll be done with that part and onto the next stage of the project! We're all impressed with what we've seen so far — can't wait for the ending!

  8. Love this ! I'm in the same situation I will be reaching out for live help as I've installed popups connected to my downspouts but my draining still needs work in the back yard. You have inspired me chuck ❤️

  9. Appreciate all the comments and encouragement. But Chuck has me closer to the grave than I want to be. I’m only 61! At 71 I’m surly calling someone.

  10. thanks for the inspiration Robert and Chuck. I am going to do some french drain starting next week. And wish me good luck. I have seen your video for more than a year now and I am going to do it.

  11. Hi! Thanks to the time I took over the winter to watch all your videos I was able to fix 1 of 3 ground water and gutter problems in my yard in 2 days! Crushed stone, 4in corrugated pipe and geotextile fabric. Big rain here in Dieppe (Canada) and the system in working perfectly! Lots of hard work but had a great time with my father in law getting this done! Feeling super pumped about it! Thank you so much for all the content and keep it up please. 🙂 I would share pictures but I don’t know where to post them..? 2 more problems to go!!!

  12. I am very impressed. I’ve watched many of Chucks videos. I just had my back yard graded away from my house and will be using the dirt to make berms around the yard. Hope I’m doing the right thing. Can I “Rent a Robert”? Lol

  13. Robert, this is impressive! After seeing what you have done I am going to tackle our clay (lack of) drainage issue next. I started my project in the crawlspace after watching every video Chuck had on the subject. Have the trench dug, basin in, and about to start the first layer of gravel.

  14. Nice Mr. Chuck you became international here I am following your channel from Qatar. Good luck to everybody

  15. What about yards that aren't .5 acres big? Water coming in from the uneven alley and pooling in my backyard.

  16. I'm glad I found this channel. I'm having a problem with water standing behind my house flooding into my kitchen. Luckily I have enough elevation to gravity drain it to the street with a system similar to the one in this video. I just didn't know where to begin until now. Thanks for posting this.

  17. Hello, I am needing some advice. I’m installing approximately 40 feet of perforated pipe into a sump basin in a low area that always has standing water when it rains. Question is should I go with a a Zoeller M53 or M98? I also may run 1 gutter spout into the basin. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

  18. Do you offer basic advice in landscape grading? I have a low spot near the backyard foundation which looks like it was removed to have sidewalk added years ago, when it rains water is caught in that low lying area near the foundation of the home, I thought of installing gutters in the back, but would think grading would help, too.

  19. Sir- you did amazing work. Chuck should hire you. Your trenches look like the were made with a laser!

  20. Chuck, when you run 50 ft of pipe, you will be considerably below grade when you get to the end for the emitter. How do you solve that? Do you put a riser on the popup?

  21. Wow! @8:40 that depth made me tired just looking at it. 3 hours for 10 foot section.. God bless you.. Great idea on the upload. Nice work too!

  22. I love this! This channel has helped my husband and I as well! We bought our first house in June and our basement flooded 2 weeks ago. After finding this channel when I was researching, we've built a trench drain in our back yard in a low spot that was the main culprit for the flooded basement and it helped immensely during heavy rain we had afterwards. We still need to dig 2 more trench drains close to the house, and use that rubber paint stuff to seal the foundation (phase 3). Right now we're smack dab in the middle of our own phase 2, installing a sump pump in the basement. ALL of this learned from watching this channel. I'm SO grateful for Chuck!

  23. I have surface water in the back of my detached garage. There are gullies and dips in the soil. There are two areas where it looks as if an animal once dug a hole since I live a block from woods. I was wondering if I level out those areas with topsoil and sand first to see if I can get some drainage or go with a catch basin, ez flow and solid pipe. I have some videos sent to me by French Drain and their products flow better and their pop up has a restrictor plate so grass doesn't grow over the pop up.

  24. Your videos have inspired me to take on a poor drainage system on a house we bought 8 years ago. One side drains pretty good but the other is another story. Thanks Chuck for the videos you are a decent man with nothing but the best intentions. If only other contractors had your honesty and professionalism this world would be a much better place. Thank you

  25. Chuck, I offer you praise as being a positive influencer and a source of inspiration for so many of us here at home, trying to improve our personal situations. Robert needs to be commended for his efforts as his work areas appeared methodical,
clean and focused. I hope he had a successful job completion! All the very best to you, and to everybody who attempts to improve their environment!

  26. I learned so much from Chuck’s vids. It’s always a learning process but if this doesn’t work, you adjust.
