ive planted out some french beans which are very similair to your beans tony and they are growing fine so i think yours should do fine mate
This week? Oh, not much. I have 1 bush tomato left of the original 4. The others are all gone. Poor thing is all alone. No peppers, because I couldn't find the ones I wanted and the seeds that I started all died. This house kills seedlings and some plants. It isn't me, it's the house. I can get a plant growing and a month on it just dies. I think it is air circulation. In this house, it is very poor. Where we were before I could start anything from seed. Sigh… I think your corn will be just fine, they like to rub elbows, as it were, with one another. Happy gardening!
Great job Tony , you have lots going on. I arrived at my allotment lastnight and someone had left a present of spent( used) coffee from a local coffee shop. I buy ground coffee beans so far when i use it , it works as i did have mishaps, have organic slug replent too in other parts and thats working and eggshells but not 100% reliable. You are doing a super job.
You’re on a roll! 👍😃
Lovely relaxing video watching you work so hard. 😁. Think I’ll be putting my beans out this weekend. Those spring onions look lush. Mags
Oh Borlotti beans my favourite beans been growing them since time began, absolutely fabulous in a rich garlicky tomatoe sauce,in casseroles and makes a smashing spread on toast.Love to listen to you talking to yourself all the huffs, puffs and groans dose narf make me smile . You've done a cracking job planting the sweetcorn……they are very thirsty plants so a good drenching in hot weather 👍 will bring them on a treat…..happy gardening happy life 🌱 🌱 🌱
just built my first wigwam this year for sweet peas , looks just like yours mate .
forget about asthetics its practicality that counts NOT LOOKS as the beans peas etc soon cover those wires and canes .
buying a trellis from the shops is just a waste of cash .
R Reet Marra great update only botha av ever had with my sweetcorn is a massive catterpilla sitting all snug in the growing tip munching all the new growth !
Which garden centre do you use in the north east, great video.
Think I have planted out everything, so now its water and weeding. recon you going to need a second plot. MMM think of how big a polytunnel you could have then..
Good stuff Tony! 🌺
Love your garden. You take good care of it. Those onions look awesome. We have started our first backyard garden, here in Nashville Tennessee. I enjoy following your channel. All the best~ Laurie 🌼🌱
You should give peanuts a go in your polytunnel I've got loads on the go and now don't know what to do with them all lol
Finished getting my corn out a day or so ago. It is a good feeling. Lovely plot Tony.
Cheers
Jane
Went to view an allotment last week with the local town council lady, now itching like mad to get started on my new plot, it willl be my first allotment! I just hope my plot neighbours are as much fun, as friendly and as knowledgeable as you are!
Great video as always.
Got everything planted out now and watching it grow by the day. This week, I’m working on garden paths. Laying down newspapers and topping off with leaves.
Enjoy your channel!
Mice/rats are what you need to keep a look out for. They enjoyed mine the year before last.
I can empathise with the night shifts. Do you think it makes any difference if the beans are inside or outside of the support? As we share the same weather I put my sweetcorn and beans out on Monday, squashes I'm waiting to put out as I'm afraid.😩
Why not use broken egg shells as a deterrent for the slugs?
fishy fingers!
Heading down your way this weekend to see relatives in Ellington Caravan Park. The allotment will have to fend for it self till I get back just got to make sure the Polly tunnel is well watered as we have had some hot days lately 92 deg. F.
Love this channel 👍🏻
Use old cd to keep the the birds off your veg the sun chages it and the birds don.t like it
New subscriber, just been out today and erected poles and planted my french climbing beans. I put netting around to deter cats, etc.
However I never thought about the slugs. I am back i doors and locked up for the night. PLEASE, PLEASE STAY OFF MY BEANS, SLUGS.
Beware of badgers. They love sweetcorn
Use baking soda to keep slugs off it kills then just put baking soda round your plant and it kills all bugs and it is good for the soil as will
you will have to be careful hoeing the sweetcorn, tony. a lot of roots are close to the surface………………….brian
Hi Tony, those Hot Wax chillies you sent me all germinated and are looking good, did you pinch the tops out of yours or just let them do there own thing
keep an eye out for tomato horn worm – oncee the silks show paint the neckof th ears wiyh a light oil to stop the uggers gettin into the ears!
nice garden ^^
Hi Tony Like you I work shifts so I know how days become blurred, as to what I will be doing I have some France beans to go out some lettuce to go out and some outdoor girl tomatoes to go out.
Be good
Wayne
Nice job again mate my veg is bursting out of the ground no dig is the way forward
Those are really beautiful onions!
Congarts on 5K Tony. Love your allotment help me out alot with mine Happy Growing Dave
The sweetcorn will hopefully help to shade the tunnel. Just a tip, plant the beans just inside the cane structure and then you won’t accidentally tread on the base of the plant. I would also run my five headed swan hoe through the ground to get the fertiliser nearer the roots. Cheers.
Everything all planted cannot beat fresh sweet corn tony all the best
You have a soothing way about you. After long day at work I can watch one of your videos and find it very relaxing. You have a wonderful tidy garden, a joy to watch. Thanks so much.
Pat, from southern Indiana
Love the sound track.
