  1. I like "blobs" too – they are really quite forgiving and often end up beautiful! Now all these beautiful leaves and berries and floweres would be lovely as a duvet cover!

  2. I never considered making a journal but you’ve just convinced me to start! I agree that you don’t need to spend a fortune to get results. I’ve seen beautiful things created with really cheap supplies…talent is way more important than expensive art materials. Shayda Campbell once said that good quality paper counts more than quality paint.

  3. I always start my mags from the back,I thought it was because I was left handed until I started school, in those days they hated anyone left handed and changed me to right,I think its my way of rebelling and sneaking back to my roots, my grandmother had jet black hair which she could sit on it was so long, maybe she was a Romany ,who knows.Thank you for this lovely video ☺

  4. I loved watching the Queens Gambit. But after watching I was so impressed with the need to concentrate and calculate the moves, I would never attempt to play!!

  5. I've done several "art/junk journals" I've also given a few away too. They are really fun! ps Also, I've been a member of Skill Share for about 4 yrs. It's a great platform.

  6. Thank you for sharing your journal Diane. It's full of beautiful things. I'm keeping journal at present, helps me so much, but I love the thought of filling one with memories and various bits and bobs. Love the painting you did, so pretty 💓

  7. Hi Diane … question do you ever touch up or enhance your painting with color pencils …prisma color pencils etc

  8. That book is so YOU Diane. Thats what i love about it. I do my own form of that and often use magazine pages in it. My next one i plan on using more of my own art. Fun fun! Hugs! deb

  9. This is pretty! Reminds me of a bathroom wallpaper. It could become a repeated pattern.

  10. I love your art journal!! It’s a real beauty! I did that with an Altered Book many years ago and still add to it at times. That was a huge endeavor so now I just make much smaller art journals. However, yours is very inspiring!!

  11. I loved Queen's Gambit! Fun to hear you mention it. And this was lots of fun to paint along with you and do my own thing at the same time. I'm not very imaginiative so having you lead the way is helpful and then I try out some things along the way. thank you.

  12. I love your technique so much! I need stress free painting!
Oh my, I love “The Queen’s Gambit”! I was, soooo wanting a sequel by now! I need to go watch it again. “The Maid” is, also, one I enjoyed immensely.

  13. I am back from my holiday overseas, so happy to have the time to enjoy your videos again.
I love your junk journal! Very pretty.
    Thank you Diane 😊

  14. Miss Diane, I imagine this is how Edith Holden's sketchbooks must have come to be, too. I always learn something as I watch, thank you!

  15. Girl, you make it look so easy. It takes me ten minutes to draw a stem that’s not an inch thick! lol. Well, exaggerating just a little. 😊. Your painting turned out lovely. I will try it. 😊
