RECIPES:
SLOPPY JO:
1 lb. hamburger
1/4 cup oats
1/2 onion, diced
3 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons mustard
4 Tablespoons brown sugar
Mix hamburger, oats, onions, salt, and pepper. Brown. Sprinkle with flour and stir. Add water and simmer. Then add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Serve on buns with a slice of your favorite cheese.

SWEET POTATO FRIES:
6 whole sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into strips.
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Melt butter and add the seasonings. Stir with a fork. In large bowl toss the sweet pototoes with the butter mixture. Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 17 minutes.
DIP:
1/2 cup mayo
2 Tablespoons ketchup

KITCHEN AID MIXER BREAD:
4 teaspoons yeast
2 teaspoons salt
1/3 cup coconut oil
1/3 cup honey
2 eggs
2 cups warm water
6 1/2 cups flour
Pour water into your stand mixer bowl. Add yeast and stir around to dissolve. Next add salt, oil, honey, eggs, and 3 cups of the flour. Mix on speed 1 for 10 minutes, using the paddle attachment.
Add the remaining flour and mix for an additional 10 minutes on speed one with the dough hook. If it’s still a little sticky add a little more flour, but not more than 1/4 cup.
Grease the sides and bottom of your bowl. Cover and set in a warm place until it is doubled in size. (about 45 min)
Form into loaves, dinner rolls, or buns and let rise again (covered and in a warm place)
TIP: When forming loaves make sure to knead out any air bubbles. You can also prick the loaf tops with a fork to get rid of any air bubbles.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

SALAD DRESSING:
Mix approximately 1 cup mayo, 1 Tablespoon mustard, 2 Tablespoons evaporated cane sugar. Salt to taste. Add vinegar to thin to the right consistency.

TEXAS SHEET CAKE:
BRING TO BOIL:
1/2 cup butter
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup olive oil
1 cup cold water
Remove from heat.

In a separate bowl mix:
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups evaporated cane sugar
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add 1/2 cup milk and 2 eggs. Last, add the hot mixture. Mix thoroughly and pour and into a jelly roll pan. (Approximately 12″x 17″)
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

  1. We have spent 4 days in the area traveling back roads, shopping and eating! I visited your booth in Walnut Creek and purchased the white wooden calendar. We have found our happy place for simplicity and easy going pace as we get older. Thank you for being an inspiration to me! Leaving for home tomorrow (NC) will be bittersweet!

  2. Not weird at all. Your house is beautiful. So where did you get your hanging chair in the living area. Love love it.

  3. Great content again…love your quick and easy recipes. Was there supposed to be a recipe for the icing on the cake, or am I mistaken.

  4. I have a dishwasher and we still wash by hand! How many times do you have to rinse out your dusting mitt while dusting?

  5. I was just telling my husband that I planned to have all the ingredients for sloppy Joe's on hand for the weekend following Thanksgiving since family will be here and there. We like seasoned tater tots with our sloppy joes.

  6. Bu titizligine temizliğine ve güzel paylaşımlarınıza hayranım ve sizin en sıkı takipcinizim sevgilerimle ❤

  7. Hello Can anyone help me please as I'm looking for the tray bake cake recipe but I can't find it, Thank you

  8. Texas sheet cake is my favorite cake and I have made quite a few recipes over the years, but now I ALWAYS use Ree Drummond's Texas Sheet Cake recipe. Have you ever tried that recipe Mary? It turns out right every single time and is always very moist. 2nd Question: Do you use rapid rise yeast in the bread recipe or is it the active dry yeast? Thank you for another great video!

  9. Mary, I have to thank you for sharing your Norwex cloth…game charger!!! I finally have spotless windows! It also works on everything. I am so glad I finally after all these years bought it. I did not in the past due to cost of the cloth thinking it was a gimmick…its not. It really works!

  10. Help, the ceiling fan in my kitchen, has collected greasy grim and I guess I never looked up. So far everything I have tried has not cut this grease. Do have a suggest to what to cut this grease?

  11. Mary, do you always serve your family with 4 food groups at supper? Just wondering. TFS – I enjoyed your video, as always. You are truly an inspiration!

  12. Mary, my husband laughs when I clean while in the shower I even squeeze the glass shower door while in there. Thanks

  13. I can not imagine anyone not being pleased to see this meal set before them. Simple yes, but knowing that someone cared enough to prepare pretty and tasty food to share with others is rather special these days! People are in such a hurry, so busy doing "things", that too often we miss the opportunity to share ourselves with people we care about. I love my Norwex products and I'm glad to see you promoting them. I like how you share your handcrafted items without being pushy. I for one enjoy knowing what you're doing when you're not videoing! LOL. A funny story about the Texas sheet cake….when my now 56 yo daughter was about 5 or 6 years old, we met a family with 6 kids in our church and we became very good friends. She often made this sheet cake and it was always referred to as "Mabel's brownies". In my handwritten recipe book that's how I titled her recipe and that's how we always referred to it. Then my grandchildren called it GMa's brownies, because they didn't know who Mabel was, until one day I stumbled across a recipe for Texas Sheet Cake. WHAAAT! I could hardly believe it, but in my recipe book and with my family, it's always GMa's Brownies and occasionally we pay homage to Mabel for introducing it to us. The only problem I have with the icing is once in a while I get it too thick! But it is so good and nobody here objects to a fudgy icing. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

  14. Another great video Mary. I love your recipes. One of my favorites is your pumpkin bars. I make them all throughout the Fall. I don't see the frosting recipe for the Texas sheet cake in the description box. Can you please share it?

  15. I love your channel Mary. You give great ideas and inspiration to all of us. I think advertising your Etsy shop is a great idea because I would not know about it if you didn't. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas. I am looking at purchasing a kitchenaid stand mixer for my home. Do you have the artisan mixer?

  16. I love your videos and I'm glad you told us your first cake didn't turn out. I got excited when you pulled out the old cookbook, those had some of the most amazing recipes. I've been searching for a brine recipe for cucumbers. I remember loving cream sliced cucumbers when I was a child and I've never found the recipe.

  17. Hi, Mary. Thank you for sharing your wonderful days with us. I have a question. What kind of transfer tape do you use with your Cricut machine? I bought a Cricut Explorer 2 about a year ago. I tried to figure it out, watched several videos by others on youtube and still have not been successful in creating a thing. I remembered you had a video sometime ago, so I searched for it and watched it. Your video helped me create two things yesterday. Some of the instructions you gave didn't match my machine (probably because of updates after your video was posted), but I was able to figure them out with a little investigating. And, of course, like you, there was no transfer tape included in my package that came with the machine. I want to thank you for helping me. Your instruction was easy to understand and I just followed along with what you did. Thank you so much. Lisa from Tennessee

  18. Perhaps you’ll want to consider getting a Mini Motorized Head attachment from Dyson (depending on whether it’s compatible with your model or not) for your vacuum. It has a strong roller brush and is absolutely, completely, wildly indispensable on sofas, beds, cushions, entryway mats, and small area rugs (not to mention the car), especially with pets in the house. It’s also much more eco-friendly that disposable lint sheets for such large surfaces. For dusting on hard surfaces, I also suggest the Mini Soft Dusting Brush. Both attachments are life-changers. And no, I don’t work for Dyson! 😂
