How did you make the allotment chair that you hang on the side of the raised bed?
no legs to raffle off , terry? lol. i leave all feeding til spring when plants start to show growth. anything applied at this time of year wil just leach away giving the plants no benefit. mind you, i've been known to throw a bit of fertilizer on so i can get rid of the packaging. well, none of us are perfect, lol. ………………….brian
When removing pallet nails from my biochar making, I put a strong magnet inside a plastic bag & drag it through the char to collect the nails.
i get my vegatable waste from various sources then i put cardboard like you on top of the bed for winter .
plus , like the chap below , show us to make a bed seat please !

I find a cattle de-horner is brilliant for melting plastic and melting holes in planters or buckets.

Amazing what can be done in four hours when you put your mind to it. I wish I could get on like that when I get there everybody wants to come and natter. Just started doing my asparagus bed. Yours looks good now. All the best, Nic👍
Thanks for the tour of your morning garden chores, Terry. If you have the plans somewhere for that seat I would be most interested in seeing if we could adapt for our raised beds. I always garden sideways because I use a mobility scooter, but if I could have a seat like that I could get even closer to the bed. Please let me know if there’s a video with a description or close-up of the seat – much appreciated!

Always amazes me when everyone on the allotment site packs up and disappears for winter like they are hibernating. There is so much you can get done during the winter months, organising, repairing and moving stuff around. A bit of work soon warms you up and come spring you can concentrate on the new season with the plot all up together.

A very productive morning Terry and so good to see you using all those free resources. There is so much available if only we knew where to find them. I have got to turn my main compost bin out onto my beds soon but keep putting it off because I know how much physical energy it takes.

Terry. I am having enough trouble collecting 40 of the black bin size bags of leaves, let alone your enormous bags. I notice today the council are finally on the ball, unfortunately for me, and are clearing away all the leaves. I shall have to get out there quickly – again – and collect what leaves I can as soon as possible. Take care Nuka.
