this changes how I water my plants | DIY plant shower

I have a lot of plants and the thing that frustrated me the most was having to take each individual plant outside or to the bathroom to spray off the leaves. So I made my own DIY plant shower and this has changed how I water my plants! Thanks for watching and hope you check back for more houseplant videos.

  1. I used a plastic/foam board from the dollar store and cut the pieces to size. I used duct tape on the corners at the back and clear packing tape for the inside corners. I would recommend a vinyl or plastic wall…something that doesn't soak up the water. Better versions to come, so stay tuned! I didn't think there would be this much interest in my cool invention. 👍

  2. That's a great idea! Plus loved seeing the close ups of your individual plants in the shower. So many gorgeous plants. The Monstera is beautiful! Thanks for the info on planting in Perlite also!

  3. OMG. I would LOVE to buy your plant shower. It has been taking me almost 2 hours on watering day because of walking back and forth to shower them and I think this would cut my time in half.

  4. Your invention is awesome! You should get it patented and sell them for sure. 💚🌱💚

  5. Hi Jeff! Love the plant shower idea! I was using a big bin to water and/spray down plants in my grow tent in my basement because bringing them upstairs is such a pain! I might try this! And I need that water pump thingy! I have a few Dollarama ones but it's small capacity, so lots of refilling and lot of pumping! For the alocasia corms, I usually detach the strand all the way to the main plant. You can trim it off the corm as well because it's not really a root (I don't think) and it just rots if you keep it attached to the main plant or the corm. I have a lot of alocasias and have dealt with a lot of their corms. I like to peel off the outside skin before I put them in my leca tray on a heat mat under grow lights. I find removing it decreases the likelihood of the corm rotting and they seem to sprout faster. So disgusting when it rots and squishes. I would recommend using gloves when scraping off the skin if you decide to do that, I got very uncomfortable itchy hands one time and I refuse to touch them with bare hands since! Damn oxolate crystals!! I learned my lesson!

  6. I too transplanted my Black Velvet to perlite after discovering root rot. Mr. Velvet did exceptionally well and grew the biggest leaf ever. That leaf is now dying off after months of being large and in charge to make way for a new leaf that is sprouting up. I used 90% perlite, 10% indoor house plant mix. I also found that using stratum does wonders as well. I have a silver dragon that also developed root rot and I transplanted Mr. Silver to a 75% indoor house plant mix, 25% stratum. Mr silver lost all his leaves due to the rot, but quickly grew two more leaves back in no time, thanks to the stratum.

  7. This video came at just the right time! I was trying to figure out how i was going to do my hoya sulfur treatments now that it’s too cold to set them outside! This helps! Thank you!

  8. That is totally brilliant! When I hose down my plants, it’s a trek to the shower – this would be a real timesaver. I may try to rig something up myself while I wait for yours to hit the market!

  9. OH WOW I NEED that!! I need to spray my plants but hate doing it bc I either have to carry it around either to the shower or outside, or the spray goes EVERYWHERE and I hate when I have water spraying on my wooden tables!!

  10. Brilliant! What a fantastic idea! Genius! You can’t imagine how often I’ve wished for a plant shower such as yours – every time I’d make a huge mess! 😆
I will now attempt to make one myself. Thank you so much for sharing!

  11. Love the plant shower! I can't put my finger on it but I think I saw some sort of corrugated plastic thing at Home Depot that might work, now I'm going to obsess until I go to HD! Thanks so much for the ingenious idea.

  12. I think I'm going to try growing a plant in perlite. Do you fertilize plants in perlite about once a month ?
