๐ Letโs review whatโs going on in the backyard, shall we? Things still look pretty rough, but definitely spring is on the horizon. Allow me to show you what is starting to bus out, what Iโve done for the winter damage, and what I plan to do in the future. Lots to talk about! Hope you enjoy!

Linda I also love that beautiful coat, beautiful color.
I'm in Boise ID. Crazy weather, 60 and sunny on Sunday, rain, thunder yesterday, sun and wind at 40 today. So it been difficult to be outside alot. BUT I've got dwarf hyacinths, tulip, daffodils, my hydrangeas are very woody but I see some GREEN peeking out, same with daylilies. I'm late but still pruning my roses which have already put out a LITTLE green, waiting to see on my apricot, nectarine and pear trees. Hope, hope. Thank you Linda for being so generous with you tips and tours. Your gardens are HEAVEN
I love your power lines because we have power lines as well and it reminds me that our yard can still be a beautiful place to be even with them. And it's totally worth it to get to live in an old neighborhood. I wouldn't trade all that character, power lines and all, for a new neighborhood.
I garde. In Northbrook,IL outside of Chicago. Blooming…winter aconites almost over, snow drops in bloom…nivalis, flora pleno, elwesii, crocus , luecojum vernum, all hellobores, scilla, pushkinia, tete a tete and February Gold narcissism, and first of the Corydalis.
I'm so sad to see that your hollies by your French doors are gone ๐ฅ They were so pretty in the snow storm video you posted a few weeks ago. I'm surprised they didn't make it. But it's so nice and inspirational to see all the new growth coming in your garden now…yay!!
Hello, Gardening in a zone 3b, we certainly do not have gardens that look like yours and it has been an unusual year and all our snow has melted so we can see some new growth. Letโs just hope it doesnโt grow too much because it is inevitable that we WILL get more snow or even a snow storm yet. So for this reason I really appreciate your garden tours! Best wishes, Dorothy
PS I love your jacket!โค๏ธ
Linda, I tried to reduce the number of containers in my garden with my early spring clean up as well … but it didn't take long before I started to fill them in and place back into the garden…Oh well, I tried.
Daffodils, tulips and lilies are popping up. – Iowa
Dear Linda, maybe this is too much to ask, specially for Steward. could we have the name of the plants somewhere, so can we find out the name in latin and then the name in my case in Danish. thank you so much. Yurika
I am in Southeastern Michigan, Zone 6, and my hellebore buds popped open yesterday, March 24. Weโve had an unusual two weeks of 60 degrees! My pulmonaria, a native wildflower here, shocked me by blooming yesterday, too. I have never seen these pink & purple blooms this early in spring. I can see the start of green buds at the feet of my sedum. I can see the tips of daffodil bulbs breaking through the ground. The hyacinths are up but the buds are still closed. Unlike yours, my Annabelle hydrangeas still look asleep, no budding yet. But I am super excited for Spring!
You described your gorgeous huge viburnum as starting out as a small plant from Loweโs years ago! Love that! I believe in buying small for three reasons: 1/ less expensive, 2/ so much easier to plant 3/ plants grow! It only takes a few seasons for my small plants to fill out nicely! The time goes much faster than I originally thought it would. Btw, Linda, you may have started off as an amateur gardener, but all your years of educating yourself in your own back yard means you are no longer an amateur. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the rest of us. ๐
That masisrstis is a nuisance plant in my yard!
Hi everyone, we live in upstate South Carolina (zone 7b). My white weeping cherry tree is blooming along with crocus, tulips and bunch of fruit trees. Our roses, hydrangeas, and vines are all budding. Soooo excited because we closed on our house right before everything shut down last Feb and we spent so much time ripping out old stuff, pruning trees and bushes and planting all these new things. My husband and 9 yr old are even excited to see everything coming alive.
Hellebores and vinca flowers are blooming? Redbuds getting close! Zone 6 sw Ohio
Best dressed gardener on YouTube!
I am in zone 7a, Long Island, NY and I received tulips in pot 4 years ago, planted them outside and enjoy them every year. Itโs worth a shot to plant and see. I think the hyacinth will add a nice contrast as well so I might pick up a few soon. Love your videos and beautiful jacket. Your videos have inspired me to try new ground covers too.
Your sweet little white bell flowers, the snowdrops are one of my favorite Spring bulbs, but I live in a condo with nothing but huge, overgrown evergreen bushes in the beds and everything I want to plant has to be in a pot on my patio. I am living vicariously thru your videos and enjoying every minute of it! I really love the way you are blending the edibles in your beds and baskets. What a great idea and so pretty!
Loved the tour. ๐ I laugh every time you say โediblesโ, though. ๐
I was getting a little worried about my Redbud tree. I was thinking it was slow to bloom. But I see mine is kind of near your level of bloom and so I'm thinking that it's not behind now…

Wow that viburnum is stunning! I might have to steal your idea of turning one into tree form.
The cotoneaster I needed up snagging I think four or five in the fall last year for under $3. Iโm using them for a creek bank. Iโve never been so excited for bargains that I got last year. I hope the cotoneaster grow fast.
Iโm in zone 9a north of Houston and it looks like my 12โ bottle brushes and 10โ oleanders are dead but the jasmine, hardy hibiscus and cannas are sprouting anew. I just sold my home so the buyers will have much to replant. Iโm headed to zone 5a and Iโll be in the woods and making new garden beds in a month. I dug up my Belindaโs Dream rose to take with and the hardy hibiscus are next. My doing that earns me some real gardener stripes, right?
From South Carolina our Forsythia just bloomed and Daffodils of Course, Azaleas and Dogwoods are blooming now, have little Pears on the Trees
Lorapedlums are also Blooming
And Some Rose's, Enjoy Your Videos have a Great Day!
I sure ๐ur outfit……CUTE………soo nice ur garden….
I'm just so inspired! My 15 year old daughter and I just Love You! Thank you so much!
You are such a sweet gal and I love watching your videos.
Linda. Do you leave the leaves in your garden beds after the winter. Iโm from collingwood Ontario so have harsh winters. We are told to let leaves decompose in the flower beds but itโs kinda messy looking. I see your leaves in yours do you leave yours.
Iโm in zone 6 a Ohio……Iโm excited to see my daffodils, tulips, vinca and some kind of wild ground cover that produces little purple flowers the bumble bees love as their first food….my poppy is really looking healthy this year but the seeds I spread havenโt sprouted yet.
My hydrangeas I prune the dead canes and I use them as a fence around my newly planted plants to keep my cat from using the soft soil as her litter box or laying on top of them….Iโm also taking the stems and weave them into flat trays and use them to put pots on top of and hang from my trees…..
Hi Linda, thanks for all the inspiration….My garden is just waking up here in Southern Ontario (Canadian zone 5b)…When is a good time to prune boxwood? We were so inspired by your boxwood hedge inthe potager garden that we got 25 boxwod plants last fall and some of them are a little brown and some others a little "wild looking" and I think a prune would smarten them up. We watch your videos about 2 weeks later than you post as it seems to be in line with our climate then (if that makes sense) Happy gardening!
I Live in N M now,as a Native of England the Dirt is Extreme to What I am Used to,So I Decided to Start Plants in Containers, they Seem to be Doing Well, but Tonight we will be Getting Strong Winds from the Canyon with Some Rain Showers and Maybe Snow,so I Will Cover them all up.The Wisteria is Magnificent Right now,but this Time Last Year we had a Sharp Frost and the Blooms Wilted, very Sad,I was Amazed as it Bounced Back and to My Delight it Bloomed Again.
Beautiful…
I just found you. Iโm in Fayetteville AR. We just remodeled and practically rebuilt an older house. The front yard was just a dirt parking lot. Sooo Iโm starting from scratch. Some of the perennials I have planted are divisions I dug from our old house. Iโm so excited about having a garden that gets some sunshine.
Love your garden you are so creative and thrifty! Iโm learning to garden in Florida after gardening in N Michigan my whole life๐
I would love to know where Miss Linda bought her coat. Thanks. ๐ป
Im in zone 9b to 10… Phoenix AZ…. Wish me Luck! lol
Iโve just started watching your videos since a month, cannot imagine your garden like this fully brown compared to the lunch green which it is at present. We in india do not have extreme weather so cannot see this happening to my garden. I wouldnโt stop crying Iโm sure
Oh,how I love stumbling across older videos of yours,itโs like time traveling!
You are super fun,you make me very happy indeed!!
