MY CURRENT FAVOURITE ART SUPPLIES (with swatching & examples of my artwork)

I thought it would be nice to share my current favourite art supplies, particularly the materials and accessories I’ve loved using this past month. Get cosy and enjoy 50 minutes of art supplies chat, swatching, scenes from our garden – and you’ll also get to see what I’ve been working on recently! I’ll share examples of the work I’ve created with the art supplies featured in this video.

*** I haven’t forgotten about listing all of the art supplies shown – I didn’t have time this evening but will edit this section to include them tomorrow! ***

  2. As you break-in the sendak you can double up pencils in the slots! I got my sendak over the summer and I love it!

  3. I have the Peg n awl pencil case and I love it beautiful quality I wanted the Sendak but couldn’t afford it yet. Xxx

  4. Lovely surprise to see your latest video notification! I am going to listen in bits so I don’t use it all up 🥰

  5. Lovely as always. Hope they have the wrap and pencil case in Australia they.are a must have. Thank you Natasha 🙂

  6. So many beautiful colours! If they bring you joy I can't think why not to collect all the ones you love! Thanks for sharing 💜

  7. Fabulous video as always – thank you Natasha. I love the look of the Qor watercolours. Just ordered a starter set of 12 from Cass Art as they were such a great price at the moment and a set of 6 High Chroma from Jackson’s. The Paynes grey is in one of the sets and I cannot wait to play around with them 🙂

  8. An unapologetic collector here, and I do use my paints too! But like to have most colours just in case…. I also love palettes/tins …. Black Friday was horrible temptation, now what I bought needs tweaking to my taste. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing your colour choices, deep dark blues and green umbers just sing together! I am not a seasonal painter, but love that you are. I. Particular I do love your birds, I just wish there were more real ones around, there seem to be very few this year. Is the ceramic palette available from Jackson’s, I have never seen one like it, and it looks one of those perfect minimal tools that become an essential….

  9. First off – LOVE all the art work. I am especially drawn to the little ink works. Don't know why as I usually gravitate to colour but there is something really special about them.. Second – you owe no one any kind of explanation about your watercolour collecting. It's really no one's business. And I will never understand some people need to yuck other people's yum!

  10. Lovely to look through your favourites and your beautiful artwork! Relaxing video as always <3 All the series were very inspiring. Thank you xxx

  11. Dear Natasha,
Payne's Grey by Qor, with a lot of water is the fastest moving watercolour pigment that "goes whoosh, the furthest distance." Imagine a fast oncoming storm front……
It will depend on the paper, and the paper orientation of the direction of the grain. If for example you wet a surface, and dropped a tiny brush stroke in it, you would see why people love the flow of this pigment. It would make a great video, even more dynamic, on a variety of scrap bits. I plan on doing some large works with it.

    In kindred spirit,

  12. Thank you for sharing your favourites. All the artworks are so beautiful and peaceful!
And please do not feel guilty for collecting wartercolours. Let’s not. Let’s allow ourselves to feel joy from anything we love. Especially in the time like this when the world seems so depressing. You create such lovely art from watercolours and other media to bring joy to others as well. That is a great thing not everyone can do.

  13. You didn't list the colours in the description box! Love your palette, love earthy colours, love natural colours… Your videos are so relaxing to watch!

  15. My lovely daughter crocheted two pencil cases for me and they open at one end. I also put my fineliners in there and yes, totally agree with you that being able to see the nib size at the tip of the pens is really useful!

  16. I just bought that sennelier grey, still waiting for it in the mail. Here's an idea for your Patreon art prompts that you might be able to use?! I bought it because I'm doing a series inspired by the moons in our solar system, we have over 200 moons and more are still found. Not all are grey there's also icy moons and moons or at least one moon Titan with colorful gasses if photographed in the right light spectrum.
And NASA's pictures are free to be used under creative commons.
Just a geeky and maybe interesting idea for an art prompt.

Love your channel and your patreon channel as well ❤️🌞

  17. i also bought the green Sendack with Christmas money i will be getting. It does feel lovely to use and so pleased to see you have one too.

  18. I always love your colour choices ! I only said to my husband the other week that I like to collect watercolours ,just as he has his numerous collections, when he questioned the amount of paints I have!

  19. This was such a lovely video, Natasha!😊💕 I always love seeing the art supplies you’re enjoying and find it so inspiring seeing all of your colour choices and combinations. Sending love from Oxford x

  20. Hi Natasha! Thank you for this video! I enjoyed your swatching and I really like the small ink paintings that you showed at the end of the video. They’re very inspiring!

  21. Thank you so much for sharing! I have a really difficult time to make colour palettes so this is really helpful. I don't know if it's just a memory issue but I don't really know which colours there are that matches or exists even unless I have them right in front of me.

I'm not really invested enough to make pre-mixes/swatch cards so I find convenience colours to be so handy! My "resolution" for next year is to stop buying the standard mixing sets to see where that leads me. I look forward to try out some more exciting colours and shades that I haven't used before.

I really like the palette you made with the acryla gouache! I might try it out.

  22. I'm planning on repainting my bedroom after Christmas, and Misty Green is the exact kind of hue I'm searching for in emulsion right now.

I recently spent a lot of time mixing up something very similar to Bohemian Green with Green Gold and Neutral Tint for some sandy cliffs I was painting – that tube would have saved me some time, I think!

  23. Oh wow! I didn't realise Jackson's had started selling them. I love my Sendak roll, although I have stuffed mine to the brim!! That moss colour is lovely. Mine looks more beaten now that I've had it since March/April but wears well as you said and is always by my side when out on location.
