Making a Winter Garden Statement | Gardening with Creekside

In this video, we’ll be exploring a gardening project that is perfect for the colder months: adding color to your winter garden! We’ll be hauling in lots of plants that Jerry grew this fall and planting them in our entrance gardens, creating a beautiful statement for the cooler months
.
Southern gardeners are blessed to be able to continue planting in their gardens throughout the winter, and today we are making a big winter garden statement by adding tons of annual color! If your weather still allows you to plant, then I encourage you to go plant shopping and add some color to your winter garden!

  1. Hi Jenny, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
We are just getting a little cooler. Still high 70's-80°/days 60's 70's/night. Way cooler than August. Here I have tomatoes 🍅 in bloom along with carrots, Kale and other greens. Florida is drier than NC in December.
    Your planting looks great 👍

  2. Love you guys. Have loved getting to "know" you Jenny and getting to know Jerry is fun too, you guys are an awesome couple. Like when we started to hear from Laura's Aaron, it just makes sense to see the other side of the team.

  3. Hi Jenny 🌺 well done , the tow beds looks amazing with pansies flowers l love it . Have anice day .🎄

  4. Looks great Jenny. The edger is definitely a game changer it saves a ton of back breaking work. We’ve found that the “beefy” backpack blowers do really well cleaning out the trench. Probably not so much if the soil is wet but works like a charm otherwise. Thank y’all so much for taking us along on these projects.

  5. The message about enhancing the soil is huge. If you want plants to thrive, not just survive, you should think about investing in soil amendments that are worthwhile and will feed the roots throughout their lives. It can make a huge difference.

  6. I also live in zone 7b here in Queens NY & my pansies lasted me until July. I just move them to a shady bed during summer & they did fine & last longer.

  7. The happy faces of these pansies will make this a lovely bed through the winter, and into the spring. What an entrance.

  8. Good morning, Jenny & Jerry ☕️ Wow, what a project! That’s a back breaker for sure. That edge, though 🙌🏻 Looks amazing. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐶

  9. If anyone ever doubts the impact of mass planting, they should watch this video! Very pretty Jenny, Jerry & Brynna. 🌼🐾🐾

  10. Jenny will you and Jerry decorate the trees🌲in your yard with Christmas lights or is it not something y’all don’t do in the south?

  11. This project turned out so colorful and pretty. Have you considered taking what you have leftover and going to like a children’s home or nursing home and planting up some of their front garden bed’s? I work at Child Services and we have huge garden beds that have nothing in them and it makes me so sad and being a huge flower garden I want to fill the bed’s with flowers. Just to make them beautiful for the children to enjoy because the children are going through stressful situations and children always love flowers. Just a suggestion. Thank you for sharing.
