Jeremy Lee joins House & Garden for A Slice of Life, where the Scottish chef talks us through how his epicurean parents inspired in him a love for cooking, although he was originally destined to follow in his father’s footsteps by pursuing the arts.
Jeremy Lee pulls out his “magic carpet” of a cook’s bench before beginning preparations for his Christmas-inspired meringue tumble. “The kitchen is the heart of the home… Which is a cliché, but it’s a cliché for a very good reason,” Jeremy explains as he expresses his affection for his space. “Is it channelling Mum? You know, happy memories and times past, with a coffee and a pile of books. Thinking what dishes you can cook — what’s in the fridge, what you can get”.
Now proprietor at Quo Vadis in London, Jeremy recounts the moment he ended his long and happy tenure at Blueprint Café in London’s Design Museum and pursued a new venture: “It was at the stroke of midnight 2011/2012 that I partnered up with Sam and Eddie Hart, and became chatelaine of this incredible building in Soho with the boys”. Watch the full episode of A Slice of Life with Jeremy Lee as he brings this festive treat to life.

I heart him – and that dessert looks sublime.
That is one of the most wonderful things I have ever seen
From 🇯🇵. He made me laugh so much 😅. I’m vegan though I’d enjoyed the video: the house, his personality… why isn’t he allowed to cook or even wash the dishes at his sister’s and friend’s houses?
Who else was pausing the video to soak up all of everything, the books, the bowls, the pillows. What a dream of a human being.
Not to Shabby darling yummmmmmmmmmm
WOW
When he wacks that spoon in…😂
🤣🤣🤣
He's adorable. I enjoyed this a lot.
Fabulous, love it! Thank you so, so much for sharing.
Too short!! Oh my word how divine! My kind of Christmas puddingg. Just love his personality too…down to his assault on the pudding 🤣🤣🤣
This was so delightfully fun and appetising that I had to make it. I was supposed to make those beautiful fruit sauces as well, but we could not resist trying it out just with the cream and the home made custard. I have gobbled down like 4 of those comfortingly rustic blobs of meringue and I am very pleased with how they turned out. 🙂 I absolutely want to try it with fruit sauce as well tomorrow.
I need everting in this …he had me at the giant matches! Xx
