Question for all those who seem to believe that weapons some how stopped being sold legally or illegally when the "merchant of death" was incarcerated. I do believe weapons continued and still ended up in the hands of "rebell " groups, dictator governments etc..I mean does Lockheed Martin, Rytheon, Dyncorp, BAE and others weapons manufacturers exist? So:
1. The US State Department advises Americans to not to go to Russia.
2. Regardless, an American (any American) goes to Russia and 2a. breaks their law.
3. This American gives Russia the opportunity to take that individual for their own purposes – exposing the US to a political game.
4. The US gives up an arms dealer for an entrainer (sports is entertainment). Well done, Russia.
5. The US taxpayer gets the privilege of footing the bill – again.
6. RESULT: A high valued Russian is lost to Russia and perhaps a high valued American(s) remains in Russia (I know all Americans are high value but – politics).
Perhaps people will learn/care that the world is bigger than themselves.
P.S: Too bad STEM neglects History.
