My husband is Native and celebrates Thanksgiving with no complaints. Yes, he understands his ancestors past but realizes we are in different times and is very thankful for the life we live now. There is certainly so much to be thankful for if we choose to see it. Unfortunately, some choose to dwell in the past and forget about how far we've come. God Bless you all!
Since when is it up to the schools to decide what holidays we celebrate . They have way too much control over our kids they are not the parents they need to stay out of it
Hate california. Lived here all my life. It's not the fact that they are taking away celebratory experiences from children ( I understand some do not celebrate certain or any holidays) it's more for me… the control factor this state feels the need to implement. But that's LA.
I suggest parents and everyone else need to take a HARD STAND UP AND DEMAND. Or take them out of school!!! Don’t know if what to tell anyone anymore!!

I will always celebrate all the holidays in memory of my mom n dad …. 2nd … I'm in California… Born n raised in Chicago area… But my parents are at rest here so I'm not so easy to give up … 3rd there's no person, no one shy of God and Jesus will change who I am. 4th majority of Californians are not even born n raised here so no I'm not going with any agenda … I refuse to give up my rights or possibilities to go see my parents. My mom said you never talk in public of your politics/ religion.. sad but true. Now, growing up in lake county IL back in the 70s n 80s we had a teacher that wanted kids to write an essay about what goes on in your home life… Mom ran that teacher to other school… Not MY house she told them n yes we did fail class as the teacher told us we would 😂😂😂 every generation has to stand up on their own … It's not the places are bad it's the black hearted!!!

I'm Native American and Irish and I celebrate Thanksgiving. The pilgrims got along with the Native Americans. King Phillip screwed it up when he came over. That's when it went South with the Native Americans.
I'm also Pagan and celebrate many holidays. I celebrate Yule and Christmas because I was raised that way. I spend time with family on Easter, but I celebrate Ostara and then I celebrate all of the other Sabbats during the year. When someone says Merry Christmas to me, I say it back and don't get offended because I'm Pagan. I see it as positive energy, they are saying something with good intent and good energy. When someone says "bless you" when I sneeze I say "thank you". I don't get offended because I don't have the same beliefs as them where saying "bless you" is a Christian or Catholoc concept, because their intent is positive. When someone says "I'll pray for you" I say "thank you" because I'll take all of the positive energy I can get. I don't get mad because my "prayers" if that's what you call them are different vs someone who is either Catholic or Christian, etc. People need to let other people be, your beliefs and the way you practice them don't bring me harm, they don't affect me. I'm happy that you can be you and I'm happy that I can be me. If someone tries to piss me off purposely, now that's a different story, lol. At that point when someone messes with me I can make Satan himself crawl under his bed and pray to God 😂. He doesn't want to mess with me either, just sayin'

They want to wipe out all of Thanksgivings positives – I'm not buying into it. I suppose the melting pot is wrong too. Comparing today's life in America with hundreds of years ago shows things were primitive – backward etc from those times until today. They were living the most modern ways of their era and thought they were correct. Just like we do now.
So if the school district doesn't know the truth behind Thanksgiving, they Are guilty feeding our children misinformation. This is why more people need to homeschool if they can or ensure they teach their children the truth of so many historical incidents they are trying to change.

I’m Native American in Kentucky. Not too many of us left here, but quite a few. It’s mixed on the subject. But still celebrated as one sees fit. After all this is America and we have freedom. I took off the whole month of November like I do every year, and have for numerous years. That’s my healing month. A lot of natives, instead of eating for Thanksgiving, we fast. Either Way, we are still showing our thanks to our heavenly Creator.
Most people celebrate Christmas in December. If you read the Bible and do the math you will find that Jesus was born sometime in September. More than likely close to September 11. Why do you think a lot of things happened during that date. Jesus‘s birthday coincides with John the Baptist birthday. Long story but I know a lot of your smart listeners and viewers can figure it out. It’s America. It’s America! That’s why we have freedoms. It’s America, that’s why it is America. Turtle island. We are to be good stewards of the land and the animals on it. We were created to be those good stewards. If we cannot steward ourselves, how can we do the job that we were created for? This is the reason why our creator has been so forgiving in our ignorance. This is a special place. This is turtle Island. This is America home of the free because of the Braves.
If you are busy being a good steward of the land And each other, you would not worry about the people that are different. if you are one of those that are different, you would not be bothered as long as you are busy being a good steward of the land and each other. But in either case, if you are not a good steward of the land AND EACH OTHER, then maybe you do not belong here. Maybe your happiness is on a different island. Because if you are in need, I will help. No matter how broken your spirit or physical body is. Because that’s what a good steward does. And I would expect you to do the same. To your best ability. Even though I would never request it.
There are no scales in good stewardship. But you will have to weigh yourself by your own deeds to mankind. It is good for all of us, myself included, that our heavenly father does not hold a set of scales for those of us that have accepted the receipt. 🐎🐎🦅
