The percentage ratio in marriage is fluid. However, both should be mature enough to understand that and not selfish to let the other be totally consumed.

My wife had breast cancer at the same time she was pregnant with my son. Money was tight, she had treatments, we had a 2 year old daughter and a new born at the time. My wife would take chemo and could not be around the kids for a certain period of time. It was like 90/10 for awhile. We had a business we were running as well (7 days per week)ā¦. I ended up with shingles because I was soooooooo stressed and I had to separate myself from the family for about a week until I got better because shingles is extremely contagious.
Sorry for the long post. But Iām of the belief that everyone is not going to be married and everyone shouldnāt be married. Just like everyone shouldnāt have kidsā¦. Because at the end of the day, whether a dissolving marriage, relationship, one night stand, single parent homes, domestic violent homes, etcā¦.. the ones that suffer the most and are broken are the kidsā¦ and broken kids that keep experiencing trauma & chaos donāt develop appropriate coping skillsā¦. Then, those children grow up to be traumatized, dysfunctional adults having kids and the cycle continuesā¦..

I agree that there is no 50-50, but not for the reasons he argues. All income goes into the family budget and is spent according to the needs of the family. So the wife does not have to make the same as her husband, but whatever she makes welcome to the family budget.

I have to agree with Michelle Obama on that issue. Because she's saying the exact same thing my grandma and grandpa said when I was 15. It's like they knew how the world would turn into. I'm glad I didn't fall into the marriage trap when I was in my mid 20s. Now marriage are almost always broken by women almost every time. They're not staying into marriage for life (when it should be) but only for what they get out of it. Once you make a vow, you have to stay in forever. I have no issue putting in the work in whatever path I choose on my terms but marriage in America isn't going to happen, men will get played no matter what. Gone are the days when both party had to work into marriage, it's just now about sex, pleasures, and keeping a woman entertained enough to "stay" with you. Paying for a woman's time with $ isn't gonna fly in my book.
