Pothos Ivy is a low-maintenance, vining indoor plant that’s easily mistaken for philodendron due to its similar heart-shaped leaves. Easy to care for and to propagate, pothos plants are an excellent houseplant for a beginner gardener.
Propagating in water is super easy:
Take Stem Cuttings. Using a pair of sharp and sterilized pruning shears or scissors, take stem cuttings from your mother plant.
Remove the Bottom Leaves. Place the Cuttings in Water. Change the Water Once a Week. Or try like I did and place them at the top of your fish aquarium. New roots will sprout from the nodes submerged in water after 7-14 days or so.
The difference is that water-started plants produce roots more quickly, but the resulting roots aren’t as well-adapted to living in earth, so it will take them a little bit longer to become established once you transplant them. But I don’t plan on taking mine from the tank.
