Lettuce eat more lettuce
I’ve been obsessed with Brussels sprouts lately
Collard greens… cheap and delicious
.. I hardly ever eat lettuce. I always go for the cheaper frozen vegetables. But if I do have a salad it's with all the fixins! Good ranch, good ceasar, cheese, boiled egg, some type of meat, cucumber, tomatoes, olives, maybe some feta if I have it. Usually I just microwave a bag of frozen peas and carrots, and add a little butter and salt. It's as addicting as popcorn and I usually end up craving it. Broccoli and aspargus are delicious roasted, carrots sautéed slowly in some oil so they caramelize. I love vegetables!
Spinach and Arugula. Love that combo. Love it raw with lemon and olive oil, love it tossed in pasta or topping a pizza. Love it.
Did you purposely turn both of your necklaces around with latches in front or did they just fall like that? Not asking to be a jerk lol 😂 I just am old and don’t know what’s currently trending…is that a new trend? 🤔
Bok choy cooked with minced garlic, cooking sake, and oyster sauce is delicious.
Brussels sprouts roasted with a bit of olive oil and gochujang seasoning and then drizzle with a bit of balsamic vinaigrette 🤤
$4.50 for iceberg?! Definitely not moving to Canada. That 99 cents at my Walmart 😂
Frozen spinach (cheaper than fresh) + rice cauliflower in soups!!
Also raw broccoli, egg and mustard salad with olive oil (I'm Spanish) and vinegar dressing
look for savoy cabbage! It's the soft crinkly one. it is more tender and makes a delicious fluffy slaw and is great raw on tacos!
Red cabbage 🙂 shredded with carrots as base for a salad 😉
Sounds like some of my staple foods. These go really well in many recipes, like stir fry or perhaps as pizza toppings.
Celery or fennel sliced with mandolin makes amazing salad green crunch
love all these veg but how is any of them cheaper than lettuce lol
I do love broccoli. I have always been a broccoli floret lover, not as much of a fan of the stems. My sister was the opposite, the stems were her favorite. We all have our preferences that’s for sure.
I'm recently buying much more frozen veg since they're cheaper and I'm really pleasantly surprised by the quality and the options that are available. If prepped correctly, frozen kale will have the same texture and taste as the fresh thing imo!
Also helpful ideas for bunny owners
Parsley, cucumber, red onion, feta cheese. Chop all the ingredients in a medium cut, try to make uniform. Toss everything together with olive oil, apple cider vinegar or squeezed lemon, dried oregano (or fresh) little bit of salt and pepper. Parsley is a cheap alternative to lettuce and your getting more out of it.
Cucumbers are chesp and tasty
Luckily lettuce should be getting less expensive soon. There was a disease in California that damaged the lettuce harvest. But more lettuce should start coming out of Arizona soon and AFAIK the harvest will be better.
Roasted cabbage is sweet and delicious!
Even with the economy the way it is, I'm so glad that English food prices are so low. An iceberg lettuce is about £0.50 here, I can't imagine paying nearly $5 for a head of lettuce that is 80% water!
wow that’s so expensive!! in ireland butterhead lettuce is 70 cents and romaine is 1 euro
eating bok choy raw is illegal…
Greens are so expesive right now…: i live in Puerto Rico, and the othe day Iceberg letucce was $7 usd, and sadly the other options you mentioned were way more unaffordable
Take a shot every time Abby says “delicious”
Kale: soups, smoothies…
Lettuce: uhhhhhh yeah no
Stan bok choy
Does anyone actually like kale in smoothie or just suffer through it for health? 🤣
Frozen spinach is an amazing cheap way of have spinach for smoothies or soups.
Search “cut and come again lettuce.” Then search “grow veges directly in potting soil bag.” Cheap and easy way to get lettuce.
Freeze spinach 🤫
