Backyard Garden

Small Backyard Gets EPIC Makeover – Full Project Time Lapse 2022

This small backyard had an existing layout that left it completely unusable, we came in and gave this small backyard the makeover that it deserved and created a much more functional outdoor living space complete with small deck, covered pavilion area, patio space with built in benches and even built a new privacy fence with a rock climbing wall for the kids! Small backyards can be a really difficult outdoor space to plan around and make functional, but with the proper design you can get a lot of useable outdoor living space from even the smallest backyards! Hopefully you can get some useful design ideas for your small backyard space!

  1. I've noticed alot of people using just stones under the pavers. I thought you had to use sand?

  2. Even for treated wood, burying it in the ground without cement posts, it'll rot. Probably should have poured cement, or at least put some kind of barrier between the wood and the dirt.

  3. Was wondering if you were able to give the dimensions for this yard since I have a similar size yard, and if you can't no big deal. Still an awesome build!

  4. Looks like mom n pop couldn’t decide on which paver design to go with. Haha. Love the reno 🤙🏼

  5. I got a quote from you couple of years back. You were almost $20k more over the next most expensive guy. I mean, you do beautiful work but your labor cost is crazy

  6. Looks great. Just one thought that comes up: lots of wood needs lots of maintenance over the years (oiling at least every 5 years or so).

  7. So where is the storage shed for lawnmower, grass catcher, gas can, weedeater, leaf blowers, flower bed devices & other yard equipment like large plastic barrel & 33 gal trash bags, bug spray etc?

  8. Great work. What kind of paver base do u use to set pavers on? I just use sand and sometimes it ends up being uneven in places.

  9. I don't really like the placement of the egg chairs but the fence and pavement looks good. Still it was a massive investment gone into that project.

  10. The pavers they laid down looks like they ran out of a certain size and used another style to finish out the pavers. Doesn’t help the look of the property.

  11. Great job. I see why you are booked out thru 2023. Can you tell me how deep those footings should be on the Stair stringers? I live in Gloucester county and can't seem to find a definitive answer. thanks

  12. Can I ask why you put all that gravel down just to put the tiles over it? Why not just put them straight on the dirt? I'm actually curious to learn! Not trying to say I know any better lol

  13. looks legit! On the wall with the boulders for rock climbing, how is it bolted on without the neighbours side of the fence with nuts/screws/etc showing?

  14. We just built a deck this summer. Before we put the floor joists down we put a heavy tarp and a load of gravel. No weeds, good drainage.
