If there’s one thing we know about the internet, it’s that everyone has an opinion. Game developers also know that all too well because every time they release a game, there’s always going to be some haters complaining. What happens, though, when the developers clap back? Here are seven times games absolutely roasted their haters, enjoy and subscribe for more videos like this from Outside Xbox!

2:47 “ah, it seems that the player has chosen to use the haunted bicycle to deceive townsfolk, as part of his snake oil salesman ruse. How bold.”
Outstanding, 10/10, game of the year. Or maybe game trailer of the year, I suppose.
some time back when i played the first Dark Souls on pc, i found the font they used for the You Died graphic. falling in line with the famous "Thanks, Obama" death screen some people modded in, i felt the need to be more vanilla. so i changed the death screen to say "Welcome to Dark Souls"
“Roasted”, eh?
I thought Byleth's whole reveal was one big middle finger to the haters, and I loved every minute of that trailer for that.
About the things pokemon fans needs to know, even point (2) isn't required, ever since the games stopped having ALL mons being available in a single game.
You forgot: "not in a million years" from DmC
If memory serves. Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story had a character who gives a particularly scathing response about people who don't play or even know what the game is about, yet think themselves entitled enough to launch criticism about the character designs.
The critics were complaining about the females' design, yet didn't even bother to learn that their artist was female.
This would make a great TV show
"Dark Souls is incredibly hard" they say while using the heaviest armor in the game with one of the heaviest weapons in the game which slows your movement to such a crawl you can't even run, let alone roll
I mean look, the Souls games ARE difficult, that's the point- but you don't need to exaggerate it by doing everything wrong and saying "Look how hard this game is".
It's like that meme of the guy putting the stick in his bike wheel.
Aaaah, I remember joining the "Hoes Mad" train to spite whiny Smash players, good times
“Too much water” was a 100% valid criticism. The “surf” mechanic in Pokemon games is slow and boring, it’s just going around a blue screen with a few rocks slowly while being constantly interrupted by the same water pokemon over and over again.
Therefore if they wanted to make a game set in an archipelago with a lot of it spent on the actual water they should have updated those exploration mechanics, or just not made a game with so much water exploration.
But children who defend pokemon games blindly took that valid criticism and turned it into a meme, in the process showing they don’t seem to understand that everything you see in a game was made by people and could have been made differently. It was dumb mob mentality.
"Such as Marth" bruh, marth is from a Nintendo franchise called fire emblem. He was in the first emblem game. If you're gonna try and dunk on smash bros, at least get your writers to do their homework properly.
The running gag of Andy vs. Criticism 😛
Frikkin Battletoads. I yet to beat that game. I’m in my mid 30s.
Just to be fair, I wasn't unhappy about Byleth being a playable character in "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" due to him/her being a swordfighter, but rather because of the character being an anime-style human, which there have been way too many of those playable in the game IMO (including Sora). 😛
I actually kinda liked Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel…
Mostly because the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games are two of my favorite games of all time…👀
Maybe the very first of these was The Lost Vikings. Fail enough times and one of the three Vikings you control will ridicule you directly for it. Then another viking tells him to go easy on you because "human beings are sensitive."
I'll be honest I haven't played dark souls so I was surprised to find that the bloke being eaten by the mimic sounded like he was enjoying himself.
Nintendo still makes games? Sorry was busy on the PC and not spending money to fuel the console wars.
Battletoads was mostly complained about by Gamergate/nutcase Trumpets who think not seeing cartoon boobs is "white genocide". As if they wouldn't try to ruin the life of a real woman dressed in a skimpy outfit.
to all the other Raphaels
i feel bad for y'all
One of my favorite was the cotton-candy my little pony level thing in Diablo III to troll the "D3 is too bright and colorful" crying ppl.
i mean ya, they should really make dark souls like games more accessible to all gamers. i'm sorry if it hurts your man feels if there is an 'easy mode' in "YOUR" game.
Okay, if the devs are gonna go that direction, how about doing one with “Too many Miis” next?
(I actually LIKE playing as Miis 😤)
Okay but the guy who voiced Stanley and the guy from brotherhood of steel sounded exactly the same.
Openly crying in the intro is outrageous 😂
The IGN "Too much water" criticism was pretty valid, in fairness. A normal Pokémon route tends to have plenty of respite and ways to avoid some of the encounters if your team is battered – and doubly so if you're backtracking, there's usually a way to avoid almost all of them. But water routes tend to not only be longer than grass routes with little variety in the pokemon available, they usually don't have any way of avoiding encounters at all because every water tile is a possible encounter. Yes you can get out to the islands, but they are usually not in the right direction and only save you a couple tiles at most. The setting of these games may have been an island chain, but that doesn't make the experience any less tedious.
9:44 and now there are sandwiches and pots of curry and rice.
Is it me or is the voice of the Brotherhood of Steel narrator the same as the Stanley Parable narrator??? Am I just hearing things because those two segments were back to back??? Anyone else catch that???? 🤔🤔🤔
this needs a part two!
Sorry but I'd still sooner play Brotherhood of Steel than Fallout 76.
My favorite TMNT clone was adolescent genetically altered boxing bovine.
1:43 it's almost like commenting about the meaningless illusion of choice in video games is the ENTIRE POINT OF STANLEY PARABLE
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has a feature called QQ Bang which is basically a transmog function. I thought that the name was weird and upon searching online found out that a lot of players complained a lot because of the lack of a transmog feature on the 1st installment, so the name choice was a way for the developers to poke fun on the "complainers" since QQ is a way to express someone crying.
I thought Raphael made some valid points about the Stanley Parable…the game is dull as dishwater if you don't buy into the narrative style and the satire, or if you don't get the references because you're not enough of a geek for their target audience.
But he absolutely shot himself in the foot with the way he presented his crfitique, and the devs pwned him.
I know this is a bit of a stretch, but how about when you eat a mackerel in NieR:Automata and it instantly kills you. Which I'm pretty sure is a reference to Justin McElroy, formerly of Joystiq, giving a negative review of sorts to it's previous game Nier when he couldn't catch a fish to save his in-game daughter. Mackerel, McElroy, fish, the conspiracy runs deep on this one.
The new Dark Queen does look like some Cal-Arts sh*t though.
Its always satifying to me to see games make fun of the haters
For context Byleth’s reveal trailer was the most disliked trailer in Smash history with 1/4-1/5 of the votes being dislike before YouTube took away the feature to see the dislikes. Yes, it outdid Corrin’s which is still second. It’s also regarded as the worst reveal trailer in Smash history only being rivaled by Corrin, Dark Pit, and Pyra/Mythra
Eagerly awaiting The Stanley Parable 2? Are these guys not aware that The Stanley Parable 2 already came out? As well as The Stanley Parable 3-5,000?
Glad I never knew that this battletoads sewuel existed. Looks horrible in general.
Whenever I hear about the Stanley Parable Raphael thing I always feel a bit bad for him until I get reminded he's a sexist prick.
When you piss off a dev team so hard they make a whole ass game mode about you just to tell you to shove off. XD
Got distracted from the Fallout entry by the credits on screen saying Devin Townsend did some of the music.
I mean, the game looks trash but that alone deserves respect.
Let us all remember The Hitman's biteback to Andy in the vein of this video… "Hitman 2 Dragon Flame Cocktail: We Mix a Hitman 2 Cocktail With Rum, Cognac, Egg, Chili"… 😆 😂 😆 Good times.
I love all of your videos ya'll, but I've never cry-laughed in the first 3 minutes of one like I have this one. Thank you for some of the best content on the internet!
Not really haters but similar: the reveal of the piranha plant for Smash while everybody wanted Waluigi
