  1. With the Dahlia’s when cutting them for arrangements smash the cut end and dip in boiling water to help extend their lives in a vase.

  2. great video, I love dahlia's to. This year I took them out on time and the 'bunch' of tubers got a little bigger then when I did put them in. The year before they al got eaten by slugs and snails. I store them at my sisters house, she has a little cellar. Dry them first and put them in newspapers.

  3. Yes🌸dahlias are edible. Flowers for garnishes. Critters will eat the tubers in my NH garden. I think they are edible for us also, but do some research. I was surprised to learn hostas are edible. Blessings and love to you all.

  4. I adore Dahlias Esther Pie! And what a beautiful selection you have chosen! The designs of petals remind me of mandellas – each with unique patterns. Really looking forward to your blooms next year. All the best to you and your family in 2023.

  5. Years ago before my garden became a shade garden because of the trees, I had dahlias and they were my favorite! So interesting and encouraging to see Esther Pie now using her own money to purchase what she would like to plant and taking an interest just like Mama! Absolutely always love your interesting, informative, calming, and life giving videos! Enjoy hearing from Caleb how his business is going as well! Thank you, as always!

  6. WOW! That was super impressive Esterpie! Really cool! We all can't wait to see them bloom!
And how cool is it that Kaleb is going to start hammering steel! Neat!
GREAT video! Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful lives!

  7. Esther is a budding (no pun intended) Florist – I don't think I have seen any of her flower bouquets. Your children are so talented and Esther is a wonderful artist too. Maybe next year (unless Esther does so already) she could sell some of her artwork 💞

    Have a blessed weekend 💝

  8. Dahlias always make me happy! They are in my top 3 favorite flowers. Can't wait to see what you do next year!

  9. Esther it is brilliant to see your enthusiasm for gardening and the beautiful dahlia's you have ordered you are becoming so confident and your knowledge of flowers and plants will set you off on a very happy and natural path in life .well done Esther you are a star 🌟❤️❤️❤️🏵️🏵️💮💮🌺🌺💐💐💐💐

  10. This is out of the normal discourse of this video..but if kip were able to be home full time..not working off the homestead..what are the goals AND projects that you would hope to accomplish??
