If you peel the stems of the broccoli, you will quickly discover that the broccoli stems are the very best part of the broccoli. They are super tender and yummy!!
I wouldn't do that when you buy it you take the whole thing . And the store don't need all that on the shelfs. The store would have to throw it away and no the store can't sell the rest of it. Wow! That woman has to much time on her hands ….
I went shopping with my sister at krogers and she went through the strawberry’s and picked out the bad ones and the ones that were not ripe and it was over half that were not good and a lady approached her and told her that is not right and my sister said no what is not right is that they are forcing us to buy food that’s bad for a few good ones . Twenty minutes later we saw her doing the same thing lol

I don’t mind cutting and eating the stalks so I’m not in agreement with the lady. However-to be honest I usually buy frozen.

If you peel the stems just like you would a potato you can eat them and they are so good!
I see no problem with that. I do it all the time with bananas. If I'm going to eat 4 of them, I break off the remainder. No real difference.
Steamed stems are better the best part. I have yet to try the leaves. Next year, when I plant the seeds, I'll try the leaves.
