  1. Hi there Nyssa, absolutely loved your chat. All that planning of what to get for the groceries, lot of work goes into it. I feel so sorry of your experience with the car breaking down, that would have been the worst nightmare, with all your shopping on board. You are much loved on this channel. I wish you and your family a beautiful Xmas together and I hope you get the biggest gift of all. Hope you get to sit and relax too. I know you would be so cherished by darryl. All the best for the festive season. 👍😃🎄🎅

  2. I watched the whole video and enjoyed it. My new word I learned was fortnight. When you were saying it I thought it was every four days. I was looking for the video all day and thought I would check before I go to bed and boom, there it was. I wish I was having prawns for Christmas but my son doesn't like them. And he loves salmon and I won't eat it. That's the only seafood we eat here. So, for the past several years it's been homemade manicotti and garlic bread. Now, since I cannot stand for more than 5 minutes without experiencing severe pain (seems to be getting worse every year) I make the mixture of ground beef, cheeses, spices, etc. and he stuffs all of them because it's just too much for me.

  3. HI Nyssa I love your videos. I can relate to being creative in making food from what you have got. It's quite surprising what you end up with. Have a wonderful Christmas.

  4. Do you have a video on how and why you and the family moved to the lifestyle you are now living?

  5. I think you do really good with your budget with the inflation going crazy on food you did great .Thanks for sharing your grocery vlog x

  6. Hi Dear 🌹Nyssa!
Wow! What a wonderful discussion you presented to us from your Beautiful Floral-Covered Planner! I am sooo impressed Nyssa! You are magical at making your resources cover soooo much territory and get all that is needed to wonderfully feed and provide for your family! I am a widow, but I "gobbled" up the pages in your planner that address what your desired pantry par-levels on – what is on hand – and what you need to purchase to restock to par-levels! That would work for me – being alone – just as it wonderfully does for you. I find I often "over supply" my pantry, and this leads to waste with things out dating before use. Sooo I am going to do exactly what you do relative to my grocery buying, hence forth!
Goodness, I learn so much from you, Nyssa – about sooo many things – and I am sooo THANKFUL and HAPPY I am a part of the "Our Small Footprint" Family!💗
On one of your upcoming vldeos would you be so kind to share with us – your being at a distance from shop providers -how you go about, say for example, the family clothing purchases, shoes, just family "dry-goods" re-supplying? Perhaps you order from catalogs, or maybe you have shops like we have (close by) wherein you have a co-op of gently used clothing – that families contribute to when sharing in outgrown sizes for example. We have many shops like that and I find some wonderful things for myself every so often.
One of the shops is called "Play It Over Again!" (more for adult clothing re-supply) and one shop for children's needs, that is called "Growing Kids & Tots!" ~ I sure do hope you may have these shops, for they are a wonderful, wonderful saving! I would be in a "pickle" without these shops!
Thank you again for all you give to us, Dear Nyssa! Your knowledge and skill is truly amazing. 🤗
    You are a Sweet Blessing!🌹
    Hugs,
    Carol💗🤗🌹

  7. I seem to go through more $ than you on just the 2 of us, but I am in Sydney. Your budgeting is fantastic , you are very careful of every penny, truly admirable.

  8. You speak so eloquently and your life is so interesting, that you are NEVER boring. Thank you.

  9. $300 a week for 6? kids, 2 adults is realllly good! You've done well, Christmas sorted!

  10. I think that’s a very reasonable price for 8 weeks with Christmas and everything considered.
    Great job!

  11. Hi Nyssa! Thank you for sharing your videos, I look forward to when you have new ones uploaded. I look forward to your grocery hauls every 6 weeks 🙂 Merry Christmas to you and your family Nyssa and a Happy New Year 🥳

  12. Nyssa, you are amazing! I don’t think you realise what an educator you are to assist us with budgeting, meal prep and creative cooking.. I’m so pleased I found your channel! Your budget for 8 weeks that includes Christmas supplies is awesome. Wishing you and your family and very happy Christmas and prosperous 2023.

  13. We have five children, when they were all at home I shopped monthly even though we lived in Sydney at the time and bought all our meat at large wholesale butchery and chicken at a local factory. We learned a lot about eating what you have and making things from scratch.
it's a lot of money in one hit but it saves us heaps of money and time
Now we live in the country by ourselves and my shopping habits are still the same but I only shop every six months and by meat once a year, We grow lots of our own fresh food and can lots of things and I'm learning lots of ways to preserve food and make what we buy last
It is a choice but we find the challenge enjoyable
I really admire how you do your shopping and the way your preserve food and cope with a large family , well done.

  14. I love your videos and i have learned so much from you im now budgeting and using up everything i have.. Thank you.. Great video.

  15. Hi Nyssa find what you talk about so interesting – always learning. You are incredible how you manage everything cheers Jane

  16. Definately an inspiring grocery trip, I'm lucky that I can shop once a week as I'm 5 mins away from a grocery store, how you manage with 6 to 8 weeks is pretty amazing. Would love to see more What I eat in a weeks to 🙂 🙂

  17. I’m amazed at your shopping trips, I hate even shopping for my partner and I for a month, let alone a family your size for 8
weeks, that’d do my head in!! I don’t know how you manage it. Also, how lucky that mechanic was at that servo to help out, it must have been so stressful to have the car not working with that much food onboard! I hope you have a great Christmas ❤❤

  18. Nyssa! You are a God-sent to your family. And having your truck breakdown can be SOOOO frustrating but you, with the help of your good samaritan, came through! I am loving your videos ever since I found it months ago.

  19. Can you do a video on your solar system and how often you use the generator etc. This will be our life soon.

  20. What a great video. You are an amazing lady. Thank you for sharing all the information you have. Merry Christmas to your beautiful family.

  21. Definitely NOT boring! I love these videos 🙂 It's a wonder how much you manage to get for your money too! Here in Norway, like everywhere, food prices have shot up. And our prices was bloody high to begin with tbh. So I'm trying my best to buy things that are on x-mas offers and process and freeze for the rest of the year.

  22. Your inventory system is the same that I would do as a nurse when ordering linens each week 30 years ago! Most nurses wouldn't do it these days because they're in large hospitals with housekeeping staff, but I was working in a 10 bed hospital – just the registered nurse (Div 1) and myself as an enrolled nurse (Div 2) for the whole shift. Working in a smaller hospital was harder as you were spread out further in your responsibilities regardless of how many patients you had; but I really enjoyed it the family atmosphere of the farming community. I don't think the hospital is in operation anymore, sadly. But I liked their inventory system so much that I use it for my groceries list each fortnight (I don't have the storage space like you do to be able to stretch my shopping trips out more than a fortnight). Thank you for sharing your life like this in such a personable way, you are amazing!

  23. You are an amazing planner/shopper. Hopefully since it is summer there, your hampers will have a ton of gold coin garden stuff until your garden kicks in.

  24. I think u have done amazing. I have a family of 7, 1 adult & 6 children I spend on average £1000 a month on food, toiletries, cleaning, laundry products & dog food are around £200 a month extra. Food prices in the UK are crazy at the minute. X

  25. You are amazing at shopping. Glad you got so much value for your money, well done! I'm sure your family will have a wonderful Christmas!

  26. Curious what your husband does to make a living. New subscriber so I need to go back and see where you get your electricity from, etc.

  27. The once every six to eight weeks instead of fortnightly or monthly also saves wear and tear on your vehicle and trailer 😉

Super smart move doing the specials drop from Coles to Mum's during the six week spacing .

Crazy weather up here, i'm in a cardi 5 days before Christmas! Not complaining, merely noting. Last week we were walking through water the humidity was so high….

Gardens…. without a polytunnel of insect netting and an 'umbrella' type roof system this time of year is tricky…between fungus, green loopers and grasshoppers it's a constant challenge. 🤷‍♀️

You've got this, Nyssa… your capacity to adapt and adjust accordingly in each situation is your superpower 😉😂

  28. Great video as usual, Nissa can you please time what book you are using it looks good. Hope you get your car fixed soon you work so hard. Sue wales uk
