I have a wonderful little Redbud tree, gifted to me from a special friend, that needed a little help to thrive. I decided to surround it with a container garden, so it can reap the benefits from protection and extra watering.

This was a great idea! This area is going to be so beautiful. Have you thought about putting mulch on top of the cardboard? With the cardboard the grass won't get through. I love that you have such a diversity of plants. Basil is one of my favorite herbs, right up there with rosemary and thyme.
