Japanese Garden, Hayward, California



This is the oldest Japanese garden in the state of California with an area of 3.5 acre maintained by an organization named HARD (Hayward Area Recreation and Park district) since 1976. It was designed by Kimio Kimura with a traditional Japanese gardening style using native stones and Plants. More than 70 species of Plants are found here which includes Mondo grass for landscaping, Japanese Black Pine, Juniper , Rhododendron etc. Waterfalls, Creek, Pavilions, Tea House etc. are some of the interesting places which are worth visiting.
